Not been on for a while - the Xantia is behaving itself :D - MOT due in Jan so may it continue. I am thinking about changing the coolant as winter is now upon us - flushing out the rad and topping up with fresh antifreeze.

I've not done the job before and Haynes makes the job sound ok with just two spanners in terms of difficulty rating...

Hi guys, I filled up the xantia for the second time yesterday, filled it up to the top. No spillage from the filler, put the cap back on and went to pay. Last-last wednesday i hooked up the PPS(PeugeotPlanetSystem) on my Xantia to upgrade the ECU (Sagem SL96). When the computer was about to delete the flashmemory the car battery whent under 12V so the computer lost the connection, car refused to start and PPS did not even find ECU after that. Yesterday I unlocked the car with the plip and drove the short distance to home but when I used the plip to lock up there was no response from the car.
I checked the plip battery and that showed the correct 3V. so I then tried the spare plip - still no go (battery in that was OK also).

The courtesy lights fade down as normal and the 'lights left...

As per the title, I have to open the passenger door from inside.
All other doors open fine from outside when I unlock the central locking.
This problem was intermittent about a year ago but has no been a permanent problem for last few months.

MOT is due very soon so need to sort this.
Any advice gratefully accepted.

Have noticed when I start the xantia the glow plug indicator does not light up, even after being stood all night. Is there a way to check all the display lights as turning the ignition on doesn't do it either

hey...xantia abs light is on...connected it to comp for diagnostic...there were a few faults in the abs system...first diagnostic revealed (cant remember exactly what) front os abs sensor something and front os sensor above 40kph something like that...and it said the same two faults for the ns. however after resetting the faults and restarting...

I have in the past changed droplinks on my previous Xantias and have always managed to get the nuts undone enough to get the disc cutter onto the threaded bit and out it pops 8-) 8-)

However this time i cant get the nuts to budge :twisted: :twisted: so...

As you might remember, i need a rear door (driver's side) for my confirmed 'Poseidon Green' Xantia.

This door on ebay says it's green, but the seller cannot confirm the exact Citroen colour.

Does anyone know if this green will be the same as my Poseidon green?

seems like the clutch on my 2.2 is on its way out ,starting to slip when ones right foot hits the accelertor and the car dosnt go forward as it should ..now since i have a few days off think ill have to get my hands dirty ,

From a stripped/dismantled state:

Extract dust seal if fitted, then outer races by bead of weld method.
Strip inner races with puller or cutoff wheel.
Deburr/prep with lube of choice, and press bearing into hub carrier.
Support hub carrier from rear with press block (tube) bearing upon inner...

Travelling on dual carriageway the retaiing wire on the spare wheel holder under the van snapped!
Wheel flew off and luckily didnt hit anyone went back at next roundabout but wheel was wrecked. Couldn't find cable to check for rust etc.

Renewed th rear pads on my 93 VSX 1.9 TD this last weekend, just before the MOT (which it passed, of course), and I was surprised to find the old pads were genuine pads.

Could these be the originals, at 112,000 miles, do you think?

What's the most anyone's got from pads?

Hi as anyone changed the front centre sphere, looks difficult as its up in the front subframe with no room to remove it. I bought the front three spheres and have changed the two on top of the legs under the bonnet. Any advice welcome the car is still up on ramps i will leave there just incase i get any advice how to remove it.

I've had my C5 for a week now and next to my handbrake is two arrows and a sports button in the middle - does the front arrow operate the front suspension and the other arrow operate the rear suspension?

Not had this before.Probably a simple cure. The car seems to lose pressure overnight(not totally deflated, and no leaks).If I carry out the citrobics, front rises no problem but the rear refuses unless you juggle the height control lever backwards and forwards a few times.Another point is that the front always rises first?Not sure if I have ever...

(1)The Keyfob on my Saxo is faulty. I have insertrd several new batteries which die within 24 hours. This I put down to a faulty fob. Is this problem curable & how ?.
(2) I have a keyfob for an usused Xantia. Can this Fob be programmed for the Saxo ?.

it seems like there's a coolant leak somewhere but i have checked all hoses and seems like nothing's wrong with it, it takes about 1 litre every week.

when i bought the car the guy who sold it to me said that i will need to change the rear right arm bearing but since i live in finland and i'm not finnish so i got caught in the culture shock...

Mine's been leaking for quite some time.
It's got worse recently, apparently putting a lot of antifreeze in there dissolved out some of the sludge that's been sealing it. :lol:

Shopping around on fleabay etc; are the pumps on turbo and non turbo engines the same?
My guess would be yes, but figured it'd be best I checked.
