Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

I've just been to test drive a manual 2007 C3 VTR. I was very impressed apart from a transmisson noise when accelerating or decelerating. It sounds rather like a exhaust roar with a muffled clicking sound. It's hardly noticable and disappears once you get up to speed and ease off the accelerator. Forget my problem of Xantia being stuck in hard mode...

Now it seem that rubber pipes decided they won't cooperate with the hydraulic system and are failing one after another. It's jolly nice when you get stranded on the side of the road with a green puddle under the car. Looks like you just slaughtered a Predator . Lost 4L of LHM in the past...

I ran 2.1 estates for over 15 years, I used them for my work as a TV engineer, they had more carrying capacity than the average van plus superb comfort and ride and from the 2.1 manual 50+ mpg on a long journey driven gently. I use a C5 estate now, OK but the Hdi engine is not as refined as the 2.1, that would pull smoothly from tickover.

Does anyone have pinout or pin function chart for a C5 BSI? I've been trying to trace various niggly faults, one being the non function of the heated seats. Everything measures ok bar the feed to the heat level control switch which comes from pin 22 of the BSI according to the schematic I have. I am assuming this is a control voltage that is only...

Folks, it's getting late so I best stop searching the forum ask my Q and get to bed!

Needed to replace Xantia s2 (1999) Exclusive 2l 16v front wheel hub carriers - someone sometime did something strange, or perhaps the garage did and it's just the bearing that duff. Who knows, something weird has happened.

Hi All,

For a reason best known to itself, on starting, the tacho occasionally goes up to a tad over 2000rpm and sits there, no matter what the engine revs are. Eventually (usually after only several minutes), it decides to join the team and work as Citroen intended.
It doesn't happen very often so I'll just put up with it, but does anyone have...

When turning the steering wheel rapidly left and right I can hear/feel knockings. Both wishbones bushes front and rear are OK. The car is Xantia II 16V Automatic fitted with power steering. Any ideas ?

well I can only go on what I have been told by Pleiades, perhaps different models had different bushes according to the different pressures involved? we already know that the front flexible accumulator pipe from the engine to chassis is designed with different pressures according to the particular model i.e. SX or VSX, perhaps the steering rack...

Hi,

i took my C5 for a diagnostics check as i'm getting ESP/ASR fault on start up the check brought up a RAW sensor fault
i managed to get another RAW sensor and replace it but the fault hasn't gone ........ oh sorry i forgot to mention that
there is an ABS warning light on the dash as well.

any help would be appreciated

Its happened twice in the last couple of weeks, both times in Cornwall, happened on my way home this evening. Engine goes completely dead, after trying to glide the car into a suitable non obstructing position, try to start it, turns over but not a hint of firing, do this half a dozen times and it suddenly starts.

My first thought was the in tank...

Yep, no pick up and died..............Phil Hunt was stumped, he made a call to a mate and said try it, I did, no trouble since.....however typical Citroen it may be total...

Can anyone assist me please I have just taken delivery of my new C5 Tourer and it is fantastic all the bells and whistles you would expect plus it has fitted a Citroen DAB radio attachment it works on the system of using an FM frequency and then you have a remoter to trawl through all the DAB station with super DAB quality. The only down side is...

That is a hard choice. As FM is staying on for a lot longer than at first planned, I have not got a DAB adapter yet but keep thinking about it as I like some stations that are not on FM. It looks like the Citroen solution has serious shortcomings.

I must admit to being relatively unimpressed with TMC, it seems to trail reality by about an hour...

I drove my 2007 C5 2.0 diesel over some ruts in the road and now it has developed a vibration when I rev the motor and makes a lot of noise on the driver side up front like its rubbing or vibrating against the plastic underneath. Hi Guys, got a problem with my c5 mark 1 I have noticed that if have the car on full lock, either left or right hand turn, the left tyre sounds as if it is seriously scrubbing. Only two days ago I noticed that when i repeated this manouver the tyre jumped from under the car and made a hell of a noise? It is as though the wheels are not aligned...

problem solved.
I took it to a performance car centre which uses very precise allignment tools. they found out that the passenger side was towing in by 4 degrees and the drivers side by 1degree. Now it corners perfectly, even on full lock! No scrubbing.

When I select reverse the passenger wing mirror does not drop on my Xantia.

Would like to get this sorted, but literally have no clue where to look first. Is there a relay hidden away somewhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

apparently I have this function on my exclusive C5 52 plate, I just tried it and the mirror did a sort of dance then did nothing.....the mirror still operates electrically as it should but does nothing at all now when I select reverse?? I'm not going to lose sleep over it but seems a bit weird?? oh well........

My Citroen C2 engine light stays on, I've sent it for a diagnostic test and it said some cylinders are misfiring and injectors are faulty, we replaced the faulty injectors with brand new ones and the plug where they go into and still the car is missing and cuTting out! hi,
I have a 2.2 hdi C5 exclusive 52 plate that has the third brake light not working.....it isn't an mot fail cos it passed two weeks ago,but I would like it working. I have looked in the handbook and it tells you how to change every bulb except this one?? it shows a pic,and says it is a diode bulb but gives no instructions on how to change it?...

Hi guys As I'm having a few minor issues with my starter motor I thought I would look it up and find out where it is and how easy it is to get to. However when I start the program I get this;

When I try and restart the program I get a javascript error?

Hi Guys, Hope your all enjoying a good xmas.

My C5 2.2hdi has developed an intermittent fault when cold. occasionally on first crank instead of engine turning it gives a high pitch metallic screech which stops the moment I release the key. It only seems to do it when the engine is very cold and even then its only done it 4-5 times in total and...

In my quest for a car locally in New Zealand, there is not much choice in affordable Citroens. I am thinking of bidding on this C5 . Any ideas about the power steering leak?

This Xantia V6 looks nice, but is probably ex-Japan, the price seems a little steep still.

Hi, my series 1 Xantia, when I start- up the engine fires then. I get a yellow flashing light, it flashes between eight and ten times every start up. It looks like a dipstick ! checked oil. thats ok, wondering what the symbol means ? thanks for your help, Terry.

Hi All this is my first post, my multispace never felt right since I bought it in the summer a strange buzzy engine vibration when reving then would not start one morning mechanic had a look and the numskull I paid to change the timing belt had not tightend the water pump up and 3 bolts had fell out and the buzz I felt was probably the lose pump...

Hi, just noticed, that the rear suspension on my series 1 Xantia, is a little low! I am unable to get one finger between tyre and rear wheel arch ( I understand that you should have one fingers width) Iam now minus two fingers!! Anybody know how I can put the rear suspsension back to where it should be, mant thanks in advance Terry. :(

Hi again all having taken delivery of a lexia today i set about resetting my various error codes,there anywhere where i can find what the readings on the live data screen should look like i have gone into the injection ecu and view all of the values but these mean nothing if you dont know what the values should be,I have to say i bought my lexia...

I have a 2.0 hdi Xantia estate that has 213k on the clock and is still going but rough around the edges. As you can imagine the kids always want to be dropped off in the dark or around the corner :-D ha ha.

However for the last few months I have been looking on ebay, gum tree, autotrader for another Citroen Xantia HDI but there seem to be less of...

Hello,
I have a 2003 C5 2.0 HDI estate.
Last night the clutch was changed the clutch after it died on me.
Straight after I got the car back there was very little travel in the clutch pedal to engage it.
However, after driving around in it today the travel has increased quite a lot.

I did change the slave cylinder because it broke when the clutch died.
The pedal seems to have stopped in the higher position so it does look like it might have been air.

I removed a pair of flat spheres from my XM last weekend and replaced them with a good used pair, the ride is now silky smooth!

Can I have the flat originals regassed? They are both fitted with Valprex valves but released a long jet of LHM when removed. Does this mean they're scrap? If not where can I take them to be regassed? Can they be used on...

If they're squirters then it's pretty certain they're dead. Hunt down some usable spheres and fit the Valprex nipples to them.

Not sure if it's me but do you think the front suspension is too low? Had the car serviced a couple of months ago and I feel that the suspension is a bit more firm that it used to be.

If the priority is to keep the rear at the correct height (makes sense as the rear suspension has to deal with variable loads) then you would expect an impact on the front if the LDS levels are not correct? Just a thought

Hi all. I had a prob with my automatic lights doing whatever they wanted, which eventually got to the point where I bought a new comms unit cos I didn't like the headlights coming on in broad daylight and then going out on the M40 as I drove home at midnight (paid £180 from Neat Autos, Valeo unit... a secondhand one was knocking £80-90, my garage...

Almost certainly a COMM fault.

Loss of positive supply to the hub results in headlights, wipers coming on. My point is, it's not a simple supply voltage issue but control within the unit.
