I'm just messing underbonnet (xantia TD) and took iff what looks to be a breather pipe banjo not realising it looks to be 'sided' when it come to refitting. One pipe is marked 'K' the other 'F' and looking inside each one it looks to need fitting the correct way around?
Any ideas?
It came off here ...
A bit oily around and inside that pipe ... should it be? I'm thinking that maybe the breather pipe has been incorrectly fitted earlier maybe not allowing oil to drain back which i assume to be its function?

Oil blow-by recirculator ? By the looks of it....if so, then yes it should be a tad oily, obviously not dripping, and I'm *guessing* the "UFO" bit does a bit of baffling/moisturizing....
Re: Which way is the right way?
That's fitted the same way as all of mine, should be alright.

It's actually a control valve designed to maintain a negative pressure in the crankcase.
Without it you will get oil blowing past the various seals and gaskets, particularly the cam box gasket on the Citroen diesels.
