Anybody know the list of parts needed for the retro fitting of cruise control of a Xantia V6 ?

Nope, not fitted.

I need to check ifI have all the parts needed from the scrapped V6. There is an after market kit fitted to the silver V6Activa made by Lindgaard (SCS4342) so if all else fails I could fit that.

Working from memory...

The bellows assembly mounted to the throttle
The vacuum pump and safety valve mounted under the bumper
The ECU box (aluminium case)
The purple relay
The control stalk
The dash switch
The brake switch with 3 contacts
The clutch switch
The wiring to connect all those parts together.

Note the the purple relay (and perhaps ECU) were relocated, perhaps for the 1999 model year. It isg also possible that late series 2 cars had a different ECU that had 2 pins transposed that will damage an earlier Ecu if wired as per the later and vice versa.

I have a PDF with detailed instructions of how to fit cruise to a car, it was taken from a Peugeot forum and kindly supplied by DHallworth. I have the intention of fitting cruise to my Activa one day. I think it contains a list of parts.
It'll be tomorrow when I can search for the document.

A small box ? What year is the donor car and is it a Series 1 or Series 2 ?

If its a Series 1, the ECU is under the front of the drivers seat on the door pillar side just where the front and rear carpets overlap. Just remove the seat and lift up the carpet where the overlap is and you'll see it.

If the donor is a Series 2, the ECU is in the rear of the centre console - remove the shroud around the rear window winder switches in the centre console and you'll see it right there - very easy to remove. On a Series 1 the ECU located here is the deadlocking ECU.

There was some overlap in the location of some components during the S1 to S2 switchover - for example in Series 1 and early Series 2 cars the relay is in the box above the front right wheel arch liner while in later models I believe it is in the drivers footwell area. It's just a standard automotive relay so not a big deal to substitute it for a generic one though.

It shouldn't cause damage - the two pins that are reversed (I don't recall the numbers off hand) are for the vacuum pump motor and vacuum bleed solenoid. (built into the pump, not the separate dump valve) If you use the wrong ECU it just won't work properly because the ECU will trying to open the throttle when it means to close it and vica-versa. Swapping the wires around in the loom should be enough to get the "wrong" ECU working in the car.

Also note that the Sedre wiring diagram are wrong for some years of car - all Series 2 cars (based on RPO lookup) are shown with the late Series 2 reversed wiring, whereas my early Series 2 Xantia V6 actually had (physically confirmed and measured) the same pinouts as the Series 1 version of the ECU. It also had the relay in the Series 1 location above the front right wheel arch liner and not in the later Series 2 location, however in this regard the Sedre wiring diagrams were correct.

If you search the forum, I think that you will find that Jim discovered the hard way that fitting the wrong version of ECU will burn out some transistors.
