My 95 TD Xantia needs its pedal adjusting after having a new cable fitted a while back. Difficulty in getting it into reverse at idle prompted this otherwise it was drivable although a little 'sharp' on the gear changes. I've managed to seperate the two nuts at the cltch end and now have a pedal considerably higher than the brake pedal. Question is how much higher should it be? How much travel do i need to allow? Is there a way of meaduring this or is it just trial and error ... cheers!

Re: Clutch pedal height?
There is a measurement, I think it's from the steering wheel to the pedal. It's in Haynes which unfortunately is miles away at the moment.
Forgot I have haynes on the computer.
You need to measure the clutch pedal travel.
1. Measure from bottom of steering wheel to the clutch pedal.
2. Depress the clutch pedal fully and measure from the bottom of the steering wheel to the clutch pedal.
Subtract 1. from 2.
Should be 150mm +/- 5mm
3. Adjust into spec if necessary.
