Four ridgid pipes run front to rear and a plastic low pressure return....

Three of the front to backs are 3.5mm suspension pipes, the other 4th is a 4.5mm BRAKE feed pipe.

Depending on the spec (IE: ABS or NOT) if you HAVE got ABS the brake feed pipe runs all the way from the ABS block to the K joint under the car on the NEAR SIDE.. Its a single 4.5mm feed pipe, this then splits in the K joint to the 3.5mm pipes that goto each caliper..

The three 3.5mm pipes front to rear are two high pressure feeds the other is a low return from the rear, as well as the plastic return. One goes to the height corrector two sides, the other goes to the other K joint on the Drivers side. The other end one goes to one of the 4 Joiners bolted to the bulkhead thats connected to the brake valve. Complex YES, I know.. This is all recall off the top of my head by the way.

Useually you can work out if its a brake or suspension feed as the Rear Brake line will only leak when you press the brake pedal.
Suspension feed pipe will leak all the time. ALL pipes on the rear subframe are 3.5mm except the mentiond main brake feed from the front which is 4.5mm..

If you support the car ADEQUETLY with stands etc, you can litterally lower the subframe with a jack enough to have a proper look ontop of the subframe for easyer viewing... Dont lower it to far.. You can get away with it just removing Two bolts on the passenger side as this is the side the main pipes run...

Graham harper in Glasgow can make pipes up.. but the pipes are one piece front to back. unless you have your own citroen flare tool to make your own pipes up. you will need a full length one made to go front to back after working out which one it is and where it goes to and from...

there is also a chance if its one on the Subframe it could be a small pipe to do with the anti sink setup... Between the anti sink valve and height corrector ..

Hi allan, did you ever get this pipe fixed, I'm asking as the same pipe on mine has failed the MOT, what was the outcome then?

Hi Lee, yes I did get my pipe fixed by a friend of mine who has the flairing tool and joining pieces and pipe in fact all that is needed to do the repair, but we are in Scotland so no help to you, the pic showing the u pipe in the centre of the subframe is the very pipe that was burst, I am sure you will be able to buy all the bits to do the job for a lot less that Citroen want to do the pipes not sure where though sorry

Citroenxm, is it a big job to replace the 4 rigid pipes that run front to back?

Its better to join them under the car but thats easier said then done if you do not have a flaire tool..
Theres three 3.5mm pipes and one 4.5mm brake pipe and a plastic return.
They all go over the top of the front subframe which is tricky to sort.. But there locations are ones a return that pushs into a rubber return i think from the height corrector another goes to the set of 4. Inline connectors on the bulk head just below the lhm tank.. Third i think goes to the safty valve under the lhm tank and the 4.5mm goes to the ABS Block should you have abs fitted..

Its also fairly easyer and helps to lower the rear subframe, after securely supporting the car, on the one side.. It helps give a better view of the pipes comming up and onto the top of the rear subframe..

It's easier if you can get a flare tool to just replace the rotten bit. It seems that in most cases it's only the last foot or so of the pipe rots. I've repaired a couple in the past myself like this and had a couple done on the last Xantia in this way. The awkward one at the back that goes over the top of the subframe! Not as tricky as you'd think.

Malcolm helped me with that one, and I did a couple on my first Activa myself when I could be bothered to do such things. I did it on the drive here!
