Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

I've had over 50 hydraulic Citroens over the past 20 years but my Xantia Athena Diesel has a funny button in front of the height adjuster which I imagine Is hydractive.

The car rides well but isn't as good as my Desire which is running comfort spheres and is non hydractive.

One slight correction to Richard's description: the centre sphere is not undamped , the damper elements are mounted in the valve block (one per side) not on the sphere.

Don't fit normal comfort spheres, as the pressure and damping are wrong when the hydractive spheres get switched in, and the car wallows too much.

can anyone help???
Citroen c6 speedo dash assembly,ours does not work.Head up display works fine but kow lights or information on speedo dash area.Been repaired last year but only worked for 1 month i was told.

Hi all new to the forum, I have a question about my injectors and coding on the car, I recently bought the mises a 1.4 hdi as a spares repair cheap problem been hard to start when cold so I replaced the hand primer set up and had injectors tested etc and ended up replacing 1 faulty injector anyway the car still had problems starting from cold so...

Mises currently at work so can't run through it but as I.remember on injector options there are 3 options reading, memorise and configure or something along those lines , it comes up with a message saying can't configure until saved tried saving the current (old) codes get the confirmation codes saved but when you return to the configure option...

As the owner of a 2.2 i agree with all the above comments. Fantastic car with more features and gadgets than you can throw a stick at but a little quirky compared to my previous mondeos. I only get about 40mpg (mondeo was 30 at best :lol: ). It appears common to replace the water pump at same time as cam belt on a 2.2. A lexia is sound investment....

I used 3 bits of scrap alloy plate. I had 2 stacked just on the lip of the wishbone right by the bush. The other one was slid along the arm until it sat flat.
To put the new one in I couldn't get it into the press so I used a large vice to squeeze it in.

I have bought a second-hand replacement ECU unit but am not sure how to get the old one out.

I can see where it is, I think (to the right of the steering wheel above satnav disc unit) but cannot see how to get it out.

Is that when an engine is plonked in the boot...my dad and me can't lift it out...we tied it to the swing seat...put the suspension down...and voila!

I thought I was going to driving around with 2 engines for ever :rofl2:

OK, The Pig is on the floor and will not lift.

Buttons are OK and show the selected position on dash....no lift
Cannot hear pump run....but lifted fuse box and the (No8) 40amp is OK, all others are OK
Cannot get under it :)

Recovery booked for the morning

Any thoughts on why NO FAULTS show in Lexia on a read ?

Not in my book. Parts for my Preludes (out of production since 96) are next day if in stock at Swindon or day after that, if in Belgium. Only time they go over 2 days is if they have to come from Japan.

Hello!

After 1,5 year without a car (my Xantia was scraped after a collision) I have bought a Citroën XM TCT -95.

I bought it for nothing and yes , it's not in mint condition.

But I'm back with a real Citroën.

The problems are ABS out of use. Maybe a sensor, maybe dirt in a connector. I'll try with Lexia.

Can anyone give some pointers to selecting a battery for Xantia Activa as the current one is venting its contents .
A Bosch S5 027 63ah CCA 610 has after four years begun to create whitey powder about , taking the paint off the tray .
apparently this discharge is the sulphating process caused from the charging cycle pattern . i.e.frequent low...

My glowplugs have been in for some years now and while she (1.9TD) always starts first turn recently there's been a bit of white smoke which i understand indicates unburnt fuel so i guess it could be time to replace them. Have bought replacement BERUs and would like to test them before i fit them. Possible? If so, how?

Yontoo isn't a virus it's a plugin to overlay graphics (a hack is the correct term I'd use). It's an old plugin at that and since most AV's treat is a potential risk, it's lost poularity and therefore obsolete.

Lexia software doesn't contain a virus either but again the hacks bundled into the clone offerings used to bypass the legitmate versions...

I hade a code come up a few weeks ago for a clutch issue, I replaced the clutch which turned out to be the thrust bearing. I have since coincidentaly got a new clutch issue. The car has a severe lack of power (limp home mode) and the engine management light is on, the code reads as P0903 which is clutch actuator switch high fault.

I had a technical inspection today and shortly after I drove out the car suddenly stopped. I tried to start the car but it was clear that something is wrong. After I lifted up the bonnet I saw that one of the connections on the fuel filter has jumped off. I pushed it back and primed the filter a couple of times and the car started again. But...

It is not unusual for inspectos to be lacking in knowledge on Citroens. One MoT guy said there was an issue with the headlight being off calibration (on a BX), and was going to fail it. The owner started the engine, and the MoT idiot watched as the BX rose to a level height.

Hi all, what electrical mess could cause a turbo to stop working? I had a fiddle with the wires today (pulled two of the ECU plugs (the one with three plugs?) out and plugged back in) and wd40'd the earth on top of the gearbox. Put Humpty Dumpty back together again and still no better. I suspect a plug/loom problem since when I played with the n/s...

Car has 136k on original clutch/ flywheel but been getting vibration and clattering noise from gearbox on lifting clutch pedal. This is what the bearing looked like when we got the gearbox out.

When we did the clutch on my mates 2.0 HDi 16 the friction plate was barely worn, but the inside of the DMF was flopping about so much that it was catching on the outer edge, and a whole load of alu dust fell out when we removed it. No wonder it was noisy in use!

Hi, I bought a 2005 Citroen C4 1.4 16v Petrol about a year ago with the timing belt broke, I got the valves replaced and the head skimmed, put all back together and I noticed that the belt works its way out to the edge of the pulley, The edge of the belt got frayed so I got another new belt on it, it seemed to be ok then, so I put all the covers...

In this situation for all it costs, I would just pick up a decent quality full belt and pulley kit.

Something is running out of true, most likely one of the tensioner pulleys or idlers (if applicable). If the water pump is cam belt driven it's worth looking at too, and it too should be changed.

If you fit a new set by the book it should be fine,...

Hello guys,

Just got a Citroen C5 2.0HDi 138 VTR, I was pleased to find it had the Hydractiv3+ like my old 2.2's ... and a few things here and there.
I was playing around with the Lexia... scanning to see what the faults are.

(Rear keeps dropping when the car is left parked for a few hours), no leaks what so ever and everything is dry...

Hi all, Hopefully not a difficult one - have reconditioned a height corrector to use on the rear. Haynes(no use at all) and threads consulted, but nothing completely covers the removal of the rear height corrector. Have removed the mounting screws and hydraulic pipes which leaves the whole corrector only held on by the height control lever. It it...

:cry: Woe, woe and thrice woe :roll: . Managed to get a 1.2mm drill up the side of the wood and straightened out a fish hook (thanks Sticky) but although getting it up the side, wouldn't pull it out. So last resort, cut pipe to push offending blockage out. Cutter seemed to go through pipe, but pipe wouldn't separate so had to bent it and fatigue...

I needed to remove the external RH front door handle on my 2000 Xantia, to work on the lock barrel. That all went OK, until I came to reinstall the handle... The part of the handle into which the latch activator rod fastens broke, leaving the handle useless.

So I bought a new one on ebay, and set about to install it today, with the perhaps...

Hi Folks

I had posted a few weeks ago about the main radiator cooling fans going nuts and coming on randomly :? First when the engine is started from cold then sometimes not. Mostly the pattern was come on with cold engine then switch off when temp guage reaches around 60 and stay off . Fans come on a few seconds after turning key to glow plug...

Greetings everyone.

I have a 2.0 HDI Citroen C5 estate on a 58 plate. I have an issue with it going into limp mode every 200/300 miles. I've had the codes read, being P0409 (EGR Circuit A) and P1166 (Fuel pressure sensor). The EGR has been blanked but no success there.
The car will perform perfectly when everything is reset, but will suddenly...

Been over that issue on the site a good few times, so no real need to go deep into it, I imagine you can guess.

As for the issue, have you checked yours, a lot can re brought back to life if cleaned correctly.
If it works you may find the system will start to behave.
Has it been re-mapped to delete the EGR ?

My 2011 c5 tpms sensor won't program , had a specialist try with an exciter and still won't work even thought the exciter reads pass.

Anyone experienced similar / any way to add manually ?

Hello, What exactly do I need to remove to see the earth point on the gearbox on my auto hdi xsara? I took the battery and it's holder and the airbox out the other day and found nothing? Is it better accessed from underneath or from the top? any other earths that aren't too inaccessible that I can check?

Tracing it back it seems to go into a loom of other cables and it hard to trace back. I'm expecting to find a bunch of cables bolted to some large metal connection to the gearbox. It seems easy but no luck as yet. Pretty sure a lot of my problem relate to it. When I find it I shall let you all know for future reference.

I've been massively impressed by my little 107 to be honest. Even keeping the revs down it's perfectly adequate, especially around town. It really does come alive above 3 or 4K though and then will shift far more rapidly than its 998cc suggest. Sounds alarmingly convincingly like a flat six as well. Sadly the Citroen failed the MOT with 'Nearside front parking brake recording little or no effect'

I've just had a quick look and when the handbrake is applied there is less movement on the nearside. Also with the handbrake off the handbrake caliper operates on the nearside suggesting a stiff cable?

A tip, before removing the tube, tape some string to it. Attach that to the new tube and use that as a guide to the path you replace it into and help you pull it back thru..a helper tugging it helps.

I just noticed something strange about my estate.
It is a P reg with an rp of 5319.

So it was registered in 1996 but made on 2nd June 1991?
I must have something special here, either the first ever Xantia or the RP scribbler made a mistake.
Malcom is looking up the birth certificate so hopefully that will give some explanation.

I've had on going problems with my red car which I just can't get sorted. It seems to be stuck in permanent hard on the front and soft at the back. Can anyone help me, please? I cannot locate the microswitch which completes the circuit for the courtesy light inside the car when the driver's door is opened. There does not appear to be the 'usual' sort of switch with which I'm familiar, together with its door-operated pushrod.

Hi lads ,
My c5 2.0 HDI has recurrent anti pollution fault but only when driven immediately after starting but if i leave running for a few minutes no faults. any ideas greatly appreciated the fault on lexia is air flow meter i replaced it with one out of a breakers but no joy. :?:

I need to change the front os wheel bearing on my synergie. I was going to go with the SKF bearing kit from Eurocarparts for around £45 but thought I'd just quickly check ebay.
Now I see bearings ranging from just over a tenner to over £60!
I'm wondering if anyone here has any recommendations, on where to buy from and preferred manufacturers?...
