Help with VIN please.

Post by Karata »

Hello,

Hi everyone! I've just registered here.

Because of an accedent, my old ZX is totally damaged. So I'm going to buy a "new" Xantia V6. I got the VIN number from the seller. Can you please help me with any information for it: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Thank you in advance!

Sorry for my poor English, I'm not a native speaker.

Karata,
Welcome to the French Car Forum.

I have split your post into a new thread and changed the thread title so that you will hopefully receive more attention.

Can we post VIN related information in here or does it need to be PM'd to Karata?

I would ask him to supply you with an email via a PM or provide a link, purely for the space it would take up in a post Stu.

I should add that all I can get is the usual stuff from Servicebox, not sure if thats what he's after given we can't get car history!

Yes, the full specs are more than is normally available Stu and if the OP wants a history check then there are probably paid services he can access in his native country.

Welcome to the forum :-D . Your English is a lot better than our Bulgarian

A Xantia V6 will certainly be a step up from a ZX!

The build spec of V6s does not vary much, as they have many features as standard (this is especially true with RHD cars). Assuming that yours would be LHD, then they came in 3 main favours, SX, Exclusive, and Activa. SX usually had manual transmission (Activa always), and Exclusive usually had automatic transmission and Cruise Control. The interior trim spec is slightly higher for Exclusive (this was optionally available on the Activa).

The following were optional on all 3 variants:
  • Leather or half-leather seats.
  • Headlight washers
  • Heated seats
  • Sunroof
  • CD changer (probably standard fitting on series 2)

Stu - have you contacted Karata regarding the full VIN Specs? If not let me know and I can oblige.

Hello guys!

Thank you for your comments. As I understand, the information can be send only by e-mail because of the space it would take here. I thought my mail is visible for all users here, but if it's not, here it is: karata[at]gmail.com

Stu cupcakes don't take long to bake. My missus can turn them into a charred crisp in no time at all!

:rofl2:

Something I never bake actually but reading this thread has just reminded me I have a fruit cake in the oven that is nearly done!

I must go and check on it - don't want it burned to a crisp!
