Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

I've owned mine just under a year now, it was purchased from Ebay for the ridiculous sum of under £250 ( i think it was something like £243.03p) that won the auction. Hi there, have just bought a 93 Xantia and it makes an intermittent noise when its sitting there idling, on investigating, it appears to be coming from the main accumulator assembly in front of the engine, its a sort of high pressure sound about every 10 seconds or so.

As others have said, the old seal will come out if pulled from behind, and can usually be refused. I have seen them in black with no green markings, so don't be too concerned.

By the way... I am from Christchurch, but have been living mostly in Europe. This year have lived in Christchurch, Beaune (France), and Malta. We will be back in...

My car failed the mot. The subframe is corroded and seriously weakened front he's marked it as dangerous.
I've had a look at it and its pretty bad. Even if I had a subframe it would cost me £300 to replace.
Everything else on the car is fine. It runs perfectly i've used for my 60 mile daily commute.
Any advice please, scrap value is about £75.

Just a quick question, I found the reset procedure (press rh button ign on, =0 display then off and on again) but will this upset Citroen in future or is it how the garage would do it ?
My local garage did the service but didn't do the indicator, now becoming more insistent. If I do this myself it should be ok ? Local garage is not main dealer...

Hi, just being a bit vacant on my part.
The car was talking to me all along but I mised it, brake light out on rh side. The message doesen't hang about but I noticed it this morning, also parked opposite a shop window so could see the dead light as I reversed.
In future I will check my 'e-mails' from the car if I see this light again.....

It's a one-way valve and forms part of the crankcase breather system... It flows such that gasses flow only from the crankcase into the inlet tract...

It can be replaced with a generic item; there is nothing special about it...

I'm going to fit cruise control to my 2003 C5 diesel estate , I've ordered the extra brake switch and got the stalk.
From what I've been reading , I will need the system activating on Lexia , but apart from our main dealers , I don't know where I can get this done.

So I needed to buy some LHM after my stock had ran out, and was surprised to find it at 10 euro a litre.
I remember buying it last time for 6 euro a litre.

Is there a shortage and should I start stocking up again?

I had heard that all LHM is made by Total, and just brand-labelled for/by others.

Don't forget that Total Hydraurincage is also still a live product. It was de-listed by Total UK on their system a couple of years back ( low demand ), but we managed to get it reinstated, and orders placed...

Hi guys,
I’ve had some issues with my C5 recently (2.0 HDI - 2008 Exclusive)
Last week when I started it up I got engine management fault code after few hundred meters. The car was driving OK so I decided to continue the journey. I scanned it with my smart phone app (no comments please :) ) and I got P0087 code. After several start ups engine...

Just bit of an update of the issue and to close the topic.

After 2 local garage visits and one Citroen dealer visit I managed to determine the root cause of the issue (none of them could help me to correctly diagnose the issue).
As I mentioned before the 2 P codes I got were the outcome of all issues with my car.

I had a '56 but I think mine had flashers, it was the newer shape with the sculptured bonnet and a 1500 engine. My '39 Prefect had two tail lights and that design was carried over to the early '50s, I think the some of the early '30s cars only had one rear light, a friend on mine had an Austin 18 and I seem to remember either one light or two...

My drivers/offside/RHS front window mechanism went kaput today; went to wind down window. The window didn't move and a i heard a loud ping noise. I half expected the window to drop down into the door, but it stayed in position.
I could hear the winder motor spinning freely and after removing the door card, I could see that one of the cables had...

I had had my c5 x7 6 weeks ( 2009 model) when first my passenger window cable broke then after two months my drivers side cable broke. Poor design as the water collects at the bottom of the cable and rust sets in and the bang the window she don't move.

Turned my air con on today, no click from compressor! Had it gassed in December.

Air not that cold, the breeze outside was cooler.

Am I expecting too much? I previously had a Saab 9-3, and that was gassed once, and even after 3 years, would be so cold it would start to hurt your hand after 10 seconds or so.

My 2009 ac packed up and it turned out a stone had gone through the condenser ( which is just in front of the rad ).I also had the very short pipe replaced as that had gone a month or two earlier . All seems good now . A new condenser and regas at my local cost me £299.

I have a 2009 Multispace which I bought in Feb 2016.

Hi All I discovered two cables under the bonnet with plugs attached which at not connected to anything but do not connect together.
My head lights aren't functioning at the moment but main Citroen dealer says that is a fuse box issue which he confirmed by swapping the fuse box out to try....

I was reading about how the system works and soon found out that there are potential problems, often resulting from leaks or faults. I am just about to have fitted 4 new tyres (Goodyear efficientgrip performance) and I am thinking of having new sensors fitted at the same time. On eBay they are available at about £6 each. I'm unsure what do do -...

I had a few issue with the TPMS recently.

What needs to be done if you get new sensor:
1) write down the sensor ID number for each wheel and location on the car
2) Fit wheel to the car
3) with diagbox set the ID number on correction location
4) job done

My local mechanic did that and it worked, he has a multi brand diagnostic computer tool...

Im running around in a C4 Picasso HDi... The rear nearside caliper is holding on.. However, the parking brake side of the caliper works fine and pulls on and releases fine... however the brake still holds on. I know this from the heat generated when I pull up, where theres none on the drivers side.

Could it simply be an issue with the Hydraulic...

Right, an update on this...

I finally found 30 mins to look at the Caliper carrier.. I removed the caliper, the pads were rather tight indeed in the carrier.

So I removed them, took the anti rattle plates off and they were choked up, also there was a build up between the caliper and plate, cleaned it all up and refitted them and out of advice I...

Evening gents,

I've just been out in the C5 which I rarely drive and noticed how poor the reversing lights are on it. I left it in reverse with the ignition on and it looks like only 4 of the 8 squares on each side of the reverse lights are illuminating. I take it they are standard bulbs and not LED's?

Is the output from the lights satisfactory...

I've got a picasso exclusive 64 plate, water drips straight on to the edge of the rear seats when it's wet after opening the rear doors. With the light grey trim, I have water stains on both sides now. Does this need attention or is it a general design fault??

Hoping someone on here can help. I have a problem with the indicators on my wifes car. Indicating left is ok, but right indicating it flashes for 3 cycles then cancels, this is intermittant, sometimes it works ok, I have fitted a brand new battery. When its raining it is worse. (Bad earth?)

The heater matrix on my old Xantia which I just sold to my brother in law apparently someone wrapped towel underneath to disguise it was leaking . He has sourced a new matrix but needs the new plastic feed pipes where can we get or what's the fix. Peter

Got any tips gents, to adjust it (it sits a little low atm).....it needs constant tapping of the button to get it to sit in a position that does not make a constant wind rush noise.

Long story short my ECU blacks out for a blink of an eye all the time.

I have changed ECU and BSM without any help.

There's a grey wire (possibly 1248) in BSM's noir connector pin4 that has +12v cutting out. I need to know where it goes.

recently had the rears done on the car, the old ones weren't flat but were definately past best. new ones on and its soft, but almost comically soft, sitting in the boot it hits the bump stops... i'm assured the spheres are right but theres not tell-tale marks, short of taking them off and checking them against a known rear sphere. HC works...

Are there any markings on the rear spheres?
On genuine Citroen spheres, pressure in bars is stamped into the metal, usually a figure about 5mm high.
They also carry a part number.
Non-Citroen spheres should also have some identifying marks.

Hi, my S1 Xantia, just passed MOT :-D , advisory : wear on near side steering rack. I have never done this job, so my question is: will I need any special tools and how easy is the job ? thanks in advance Terry.

In that case I'll be interested to find out the cause of the clonks.. I'm assuming that its my bolts and the grease I assembled the rear bushes with allowing the bush a small movement when under pressure.. maybe its something completely different

Having only had my 02 c5 2.2 Exclusive estate, 112k, for a couple of months I'm seeking some advice / input on what happens next in terms of maintenance. It has had in the last 12 months / 10,000 miles:

In the last 2 months I've:
removed and cleaned the DPF
repaired the DPF...

Hey guys, got the dealer local to me to get some keys in based on my VIN number. all cushty (£40 for insert and a plain key :shock: ) but i've just realised they didn't supply the key code, just the cut keys (in massive bags..)

Obviously I can always go back to them if I need any cutting again but with them taking a week to obtain them i'd rather...
