Hi all
Help needed yet again! My grandaughter's C4 Coupe 1.6i petrol 2007 has develpoped a coolant leak. She & the car are 120 miles away unfortunately. She has sent a couple of photos which I'll try to attach. Any ideas of what is leaking & the likely cure? Trying to diagnose at a distance with limited information (& memory!) is a bit difficult. I'll go up to sort it out but would like to go armed with the necessary parts, tools etc to do the job in the day hopefully. Any help greatly appreciated!
TIA
Adrian

Re: C4 Coupe coolant leak
At a guess it is a cracked plastic thermostat housing. Post the VIN of the car and someone can look up the part number for a replacement (there are lots of different versions).

Re: C4 Coupe coolant leak
Thanks for that xantia_v6. Unfortunately I won't be able to get the VIN or even the reg no until tomorrow. Didn't realise they used plastic housings. I'll post again tomorrow when I have the info.
Thanks again

Re: C4 Coupe coolant leak
Right, finally got the VIN! VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].
Looking into possible thermostat housings it appears there are 2 totally different versions for that car. I'm hoping it's going to be the (apparently) simpler version but s*d's law dictates it won't be!
Anyone have any idea of the degree of difficulty with either or both replacements?
