Lexia problem, Help !

Post by rookie »

Had to remove Lexia from my laptop after trying to install Diag.
Tried to reinstall but Lexia tells me the copy I am trying to install is older than the version already installed.

I have removed every trace of Lexia PP2000 that I can see, but somewhere on my hard drive is a reference to Lexia which is stopping re installation.

Has anyone got any idea what reference I should be looking for ?

Have you deleted the folders C:\APP and C:\AWROOT ?

What version had you tried to install (which failed) and what were the problems you were having with it ?

What version are you trying to install now ?

try running the registry cleaner with ccleaner to get rid of any leftovers from the old installation before running the new one. use registry cleaners at your own risk of course!

Hi Mandrake

No ! I have not deleted those two folders, thanks for the heads up, I will try that next

Version ???????????, to be honest, I can't remember off the top of my head, it is from the disc I received with my lexia/pp2000 from china.
When i tried to reinstall from the disc it just gave me the message that the lexia installed on the hard drive was newer than the one I was trying to install. Which would probably be correct as I had updated the original as far as I could go.

Now to try and find those two folders =D> =D> =D>

I hope that you are running Windows 7. If so, you can restore it back to a date prior to the Lexia installation which should then resolve the issue (well, it worked for me!).

orry, never read your comment correctly.

I had lexia and pp2000 up and running for 2 years. I tried to install DXDiag and it corrupted the lexia/pp programmes.

Still couldn't get DXDiag working so decided to give up on it and reisntall lexia, thats when the problems started.

cheers

Well, I am running it on a Toshiba NB250 netbook, running Windows 7 Starter (32bit). The normal issue of failing to see the card does happen, but it does get there in the end.

you could try searching for lexia or pp2000 in regedit and delete the references, there are quite a few tho.

You can't install the old standalone version of Lexia software and Diagbox on the same machine - because Diagbox includes a copy of Lexia within it which will overwrite the old Lexia software.

If you have Diagbox installed you don't access Lexia directly - you go into Diagbox and when you select an older model of car that requires Lexia (such as a Xantia) it will then launch the built in copy of Lexia for you.

Did you try deleting those two directories yet ? They're just in the root folder on C drive, once you've done that your original Lexia software should install.

Failing that you could try installing Diagbox 5.02/5.29, download link here:

https://mega.co.nz/#F!mMAkSKbY!XLBJ5AGUSi4WN0fmYwEfIg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Diagbox V5.29 is the last version that works with the early Chinese clone interfaces. You might find that although your interface won't run Diagbox 6.xx or 7.xx it should run 5.29.

Mandrake

You were spot on. I uninstalled Daigbox and lexia/pp2000 loaded straight away.

Thanks for that, job done
