Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

I've heard this is quite often just a loose wire under the seat, so I'm thinking that's my first port of call. Does anyone know where this cable is?

If not, what else can I do to figure out why the light's on?

I am have a strange problem with my C5 x7. I was wondering if I could make any adjustments to the fuelling with the Lexia. Car just went bang, well more of a whimper really, sequence as follows. 2006 model 1.4i C3
Driving along in auto mode in 3rd gear, suddenly engine revving and no drive but still showing 3rd gear.

I've a 1992 ZX 1.9d which has low miles and in really good condition. I've also a Zx Volcane 1.9td I'm breaking for spares. Will the front brake calipers bolt straight on with the larger discs(new ones obviously) or do I need to change the hub carrier as well? Will I need to change the master cylinder too? Hello All, I wonder if anyone could tell me at what temperature the cooling fan should come on, I was in traffic today and saw 95 degrees on temp gauge but no fan on, I just wondered if I need to investigate this.

Thanks for replies, checked fuses all ok, fan free to turn, so I disconnected fan and put 12v to each terminal, seems that low speed isn't working, wonder if there is a resistor in the fan assembly that might be gone, read somewhere that high speed woundnt come on til 100 degrees which I didn't get to. By control unit I imagine that is a black box...

The hard pedal happens only when the car is stopped and the revving at around 800 RPM.

Is the wiring for the CD changer in place in Xantia S2's that did not have it fitted at the factory? Asking because I'm buying an LX spec Xantia HDI which doesn't have a changer, but I have a changer and head unit from an Exclusive spec Xantia and would like to fit that.

The CD changer cable is not present :( Also, the head unit is not fully compatible, as in the connector for the steering wheel controls is different on the SX head unit, so I will be without the steering wheel controls. Hi Guys, any help advice please.
On my Citroen Dispatch the Drivers door window never worked.
Checked and found the motor faulty. Removed the door loom and found lots of broken wires.
I took a door off my other van (different colour) and plugged it in to the loom.
It worked great and controlled the passenger window too.

Hi, I need to replace the rubber pipe that connects the fuel pump to LHM reservoir, mine is now showing it's age! is this a citroen only pipe, or can I buy else where? if so where? cheers Terry.

That's why many of the tubes and hoses are moulded to shape. It is difficult to replace those with plain types. Steel coil to fit inside is available to prevent collapse of hose and tube where a tight bend rad is required, or you could make your own of course.

Errr .. I've managed to sheer off my full-load adjustment screw. I was winding adjusting it to reduce fuel intake for this year's MOT smoke test, as it worked a treat last year. But somehow broke it!

Anyone know where I can get a replacement?? its a VE Bosch LDA type (0460494412 VE4/9F2250R445-8)

As expected the light has come on - not too bad considering it's done 95k now. Ours is an early one, so appears to be on 176. Later ones use Powerflex - which is cheaper (£127 for the bag vs £170 for the early one). Hello all

I recently bought the following C5 on eBay, and went to collect it today - wish I'd never bothered!

To start with the battery was flat, so he had to jump start it which did fix the power steering fault, the other fault mentioned I assumed was EGR related.

Sure enough, I noticed straight away that there were loads of parts missing...

Hi,

does anyone or has anyone had experience of replacing the sump on an XUD9 1.9td engine
please? my 1998 S-reg has air-con and garages seem to want to make it sound complex because it has air-con.
Ive had a look at the citroen service site diagrams inputting my vin number
and I certainly cannot see anything untoward that might be causing this...

Hello.

Back in Jan. 2015, I had one of the Xenon bulbs go out on my Mk.1 C5 Exclusive. Bought a pair of Philips Xenon Standard D2R bulbs off e-Bay for £45 (incl. post). Fitted both at same time.

The driver's side bulb has now gone out, and the passenger one flickers for about 5mins and then works OK thereafter.

Would 20 months service be...

I find I have to replace halogen H7 bulbs in the Xsara every year or two. I try to use the increased light output type (+30%, +50%) which decreases their compared to standard types.

My 2013 C5 was just over two years old when I bought it and one of the H7 bulbs had already been replaced (by a really cheap badly made one which was why I noticed)....

I registered as an Independent on Citroen Service a couple of weeks ago, used my password and Bingo, I managed quite easily to find a part number.

Now I log on, it recorgnises me and allows me to go to My Account Legal and other places, but I cannot find how to get to Part Numbers.

Earlier this week new member Lizzibee posted in the introductions about her (new to her) unwell C4GP which had gearbox problems. I went to run a Lexia session on it today - no major problems..... except the gearbox :(
It showed three faults:
P1800 Gearbox initialisation incomplete or not performed. Status - Temporary
P0949 Clutch initialisation...

The Citroen main dealer told me that my 64 plate Grand Picasso BlueHDi Exclusive + had 8Gb of storage for music. However when I went to download from my iPod today the Jukebox icon is greyed out on the tablet screen. Today, spot of light rain, turned wipers on.....right one went up then just flicked back n forth a few inches, left one stayed still?

What could cause a smell whilst using cruise control? The cruise control appears to work fine, however when i do use it, i always get a burny type smell, i can smell it when i get out of the car if i have just stopped using it and i can also smell it when i am in the car with the fan on.

If it is a newer type of cruise control, the one which can not only maintain the set speed, but also break if necessary (in case of the slower car in front) it might be possible that the car is applying breaks when driving ... but, this should be fairly simple to test, the burning smell would be from the front wheel brakes, and the brake discs...

The primary bonnet latch on my C5 doesn't appear to be working. The secondary latch is fine. When i'm pressing the bonnet home so that it engages with the primary latch its just not holding and only engages with the secondary latch. we were on our way to the icccr .we got as far as Dover be when something went wrong the car filled with smoke.it was turbocharge and the car just kept running on .the car has now been transported back to Bexhill and we have an hire car and have continued to Holland to the icccr. We are unsure if to get it fixed or get another car at the moment...

Bad luck BUT it could've been much worse because at least you have something to salvage, what can happen is the engine cannot be stopped & it simply explodes.

If its an auto system it will probably have a pair of transistors inside the blower motor housing, you can replace them if you are handy with a soldering iron.

Funny one this guys, i had an issue with the abs kicking in at low speeds so pulled fuses and disabled it. At first this kicked the light on, then after the battery died once it went off. Now i've since sorted the issues and replaced the fuses but the light doesnt come on to self test anymore.

Bit of a late bump like, have literally today had the cluster out to see if the rev counter is a dodgy connection on the dash end and took the time to check the abs bulb. You guessed it, blown! Ive got the stuff needed to replace the CAT on my 2002 C3 as the nuts are under the flange of the manifold to CAT it's a little tricky trying to decide the size of socket needed to remove the nuts are they 13mm or something else as the 13mm seems a little sloppy also planning ahead what size bolts would be needed should I need to drill...

my xantia would not start today and it turned out to be the fuel pump under the rear seat compartment, having given it a bash like I used to do with the Mini pumps years ago it started, my question is, do I need to buy a new pump, which are quite expensive or is there a less expensive fix, if not where is the best place to buy a new one,...

My 2003 C5 2.0 HDI is billowing out blue and black smoke even after two bottles of fuel cleaner :evil: but only at between 1500 and 3000 rpm and more so after idling.i am so sick of this car its always something, I've driven nearly every sort of motor at this stage and nothing has ever given me half this trouble apart from a peugeot em a pattern...

I generally use maximum high for maintenance is that best?

If you do forget the hubnut then start the car, brake pedal all the way down and put the handbrake on hard (pretty much as far as it can go).

I made the same mistake and ended up doing it this way! I got a 35mm socket from a local store funnily enough, it was dusty though!!

Dear All!

I have a c5 with ew10j4 engine and have an idle probleme.

The idle is perfect when the engine temerature is normal. But when the cooler fan or clima or rear window heater switch on, the idle will be very poor and the engine stuck.

I'd replece with new parts:

Map sensor
Idle control valve
Air temerature sensor.

Any idea?

It could be that there is a voltage drop in some circuit that is common to the cooling fan, HRW and some aspect of the engine management. With no involvement of the battery or alternator circuits.

Without a wiring diagram it is difficult to suggest where to measure for voltage drop, but I guess measuring the voltage at the heated rear window...
