Given the number of 'After-sales campaign' notices concerning Takarta Airbags I have been made aware of when looking up parts from PSA for members, I thought I would post a link to the following documentary that may be informative concerning the issue with these igniters.

According to Takata, the chemicals in the airbags’ explosive charge can...

Disruption to Parts Service

As you may be aware, the consolidation of the old PSA to the Stellantis Group systems has resulted in both a merge of data tools and a requirement to migrate PSA accounts to Stellantis Systems.

This has caused some problems for organisations like ours and the Team are currently looking at the best way forward. This...

No that will be impossible!

Valeo make thousands of different alternators for the automotive industry and appearances are no way to identify the models as they will vary in shape, design, type (reversing or not), output, and components used. Without a code number, there's no way to identify it.

I've not looked at all the photos yet Neil - been far too busy... I just created an album, dumped the lot into it and posted the link. I'm absolutely delighted at how well this one came out :D

Citrojim and I are having a trip up north to visit Beamish on the longest day of the year. So hopefully others may fancy a visit there on 21st June where we will be meeting Steve at least!! If you fancy a good day out come and join us. Hopefully we will be able to visit Mathewsons at Thornton le Dale during our trip and also pop in on a few...

Hi All,

Young Michel, who's turning 13 on Friday, has discovered an interest in vinyl records. I'm looking for a *reasonable* quality turntable to plug into my reasonable sounding Technics unit for him to use until he either gets really into it and buys a good one when he's older, or gets bored and decides he doesn't like vinyl after all.

I know...

......if you are anything like me you'll want this Company to be successful, and you'll want to have a go of their car, and there is something innovative and different on their model for not selling them :)

Thanks to sloppysod for posting it up on Picture(s) of the Day . I found it absolutely fascinating.

..and to Gibbo who posted up this...

I still get a Periodic E-mail Newsletter from the good folk at Riversimple.

One came today reporting a very successful participation in the EV Rally from London to Paris earlier in the month and trailed on the FCF, as a follow on from a rather pathetic and deliberate you tube video fail by Jordan of Artisan Electrics to do a similar thing....

I've been watching a German crime series on tv, the lady detective rides a motor bike................a Triumph  surprised that got past the German censor. :-D

When Steve McQueen (well.... Bud Ekin actually) did his motorbike bit in the film The Great Escape, he did it on a Triumph - which was quite impressive as the Triumph bike he used would have been a rare spot at the time

I sat in the dentist's waiting room for about 45 minutes this mid-morning with a full view of the town high street, cars going in a steady stream in both directions, did a bit of a count up, easy as they've imposed a 20 mph limit.
Out of a hundred cars eighty two were driven by women and all of them sole occupants. :o

The point I was making about strapping the kids in is not that it shouldn't happen, far from it, but that the school is so close that it takes longer to strap them in than it does to walk to the school. There is no need to walk beside the road either, there is a footpath that skims the houses and goes around the edge of a park, or a footpath...

Visit to TV transmitter

I had the pleasure of a tip round the Moel-y-Parc transmitter yesterday evening. It was arranged by my amateur radio club and we had an 'in' as the son of one of our members works for Arqiva.

This is what it's all about:

Tucked away in a corner were these poor forlorn dishes which are...

There was a mostly disused area that we walked through that was a real blast from the past. Offices with an overwhelming brown colour scheme and loose carpet tiles! Sort of like a bad 70s hotel.

Reminds me of the time I had a tour of the BBC Washford transmitting Station many years ago...

And indeed, our very own radio stations where I worked...

I need a new 1/2 TW and thought this would fit the bill nicely.

I have one as well. Sadly underused nowadays.

That's why I'm selling it and most of my other tools, only used this for wheel nuts in recent years.
