A weird thing happened.

Took my old friend to the opticians to collect her new specs, she asked if we could pop into Lidl to get a few bits, at the checkout all totalled up and before she could pay some stranger leaned over and flashed the payment screen with a credit card and quickly disappeared out the door, she got her money out but the checkout guy said "that man paid it already". Neither of us knew the man, checkout guy said "maybe he just felt generous."

Alot of you tubers do that and record it, but I'm also wondering if criminals do it to see if the card is still active.

That was my first thought the card was nicked or maybe his missus had upset him and he was taking his revenge with her card,

Kind of odd if a nicked card - as the thief kind of misses finding out if the card works or not if they immediately leg it! (Or did they stand around just long enough to see it go through? Would think that long enough for a "excuse me, what exactly are you doing!?!" Conversation to break out)

There's a lot of word stuff on YouTube that makes little sense to me (e.g. these videos of some lady in a cocktail dress running her hand over a car then periodically whispering"Mercedes " or whatever - recently parodied by all and sundry including Proton and a Ferry!

I can understand the parody but just baffling what the original "Bentley asmr" videos are "for" !?
