20 Mph
Had to pop into Monmouth this afternoon, they've changed pretty well all the road signs into and around the town to 20 Mph limits, on the way out I see that they still have 30 Mph signs on the same roads.

Re: 20 Mph
Does that imply that it is 20mph going in to town and 30mph to leave? ie they are trying to get rid of you?

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: 20 Mph
Got a 20mph through our town - it is almost universally ignored, and not policed, so what is the point?
Borders have put blanket 20mph in all their towns / villages - feels like it takes about 4 years to drive anywhere now!

Re: 20 Mph
There is an underpass in Watford where the A41 passes under the A405 terminal roundabout and the speed limit is 40mph heading in to Watford and 50mph heading out!! Very understandable!!

We've had them for a while - annoying in the extreme, can hardly remain in first gear!

Re: 20 Mph
I was once of the understanding that 20mph limits could not be legally enforced. Is that still true?
I'm sure it's not... Even I find it exceptionally hard to abide by the limit in most circumstances and they do now seem to be proliferating in places where their need is very questionable...

I have, in the past, happily triggered an unhappy face on a speed awareness sign in a 30 limit on my bike... I was trundling down a small hill though

Re: 20 Mph
Can't remember where I read it, but the Welsh Government had a consultation set up to make change the 30mph sign to 20mph in all built up areas, never did see the results.
