Ok heres your chance to show off your heavy oil burner engines,i guess the win could goto anyone with the PSA groups 2.2hdi with 170hp but im talking older engines if possible with modifications or newer engines into older cars.
Purpose of the thread is to see who's done what and wether it works or not,pictures and sensible advice wouldnt go amiss.

as you all know there are a lot of different makes that use the same base car for several different models ,so can anyone point me in the direction of a web site of forum that can tell me what towbars fit different cars.
the reason i ask is i have a couple of people wanting me to fit bars for them and because they are as tight as me will not buy...

Apart from a clattering idler wheel on serpentine belt, a duff (or more) heater plug, air in brake system, wet front footwell ( not matrix ), the radiator has decided to let go in a big way. And as tax is out, I have driven the car into my garden and SORNED it. Idler wheel and heater plugs received from GSF last week. More bloody car work :(...

hi all, I have an old fashioned LPG system fitted to my chevy, just was pondering a few things..

the lpg is fed into the top of a 4 barrel carb, and must just get sucked into the venturi's and down into manifold and engine..under load..

Is it likely the the amount of lpg is varied according to manifold vacumn? I cant see how else it's possible...

its time to change my girlfriends car and i am looking at a 106 or Saxo diesel (shhh but the smaller the car the less likely she will knock the edges of :twisted: )

Well I finally found a cheapish Rover 75 conniossaur TDi auto. It's a bit mileagey for a 2001 car at 137K but the autobox had a rebuild by BMW about 18 months ago. The engine is a straight 4, 2litre BMW turbo diesel.

It does need some work though, e.g. the door locks are sticky, and stiff even manually. The CD stacker fingy has been unplugged and...

hi all.. sorry I have been away from here for a bit... A weekend away in venice in the floods and just now 5 days solid working outdoors on my v6 have taken up a fair bit of time...

60 hours later and now I have removed the flood damaged engine, swapped the auto box onto the new 50K (ebay) engine, and fitted that back in.

I started it tonight...

Just wondering - after sorting through some old folders I came across this, my very first xantia.

It got snapped up very cheaply by someone in Poole and he reported all was well a month or so on. Lost touch since but would be good to know it's still going.
