There are quite a few members who regularly use their Simca 1000 for meetings. One member has the Raylle model, and another a supercharged one.

My grandad owned a few Simcas in the 1970's

He had a 1301 saloon in white, which went seriously rusty when only about 6 months old. He complained to Simca, who eventually agreed to replace it with a new car for free, so he got another 1301, but in brown this time so any rust wouldn't show!
The brown one actually didn't rust at all, and he was impressed enough to replace it a few years later with another new Simca, an 1100 hatch this time. He kept that for 2 years , then traded it in for a Chrysler Alpine. The Alpine stayed for about 2 years but Chrysler Europe were in trouble by then and, worried about parts availability, he decided to try a Citroen and had two GSAs, followed by an early BX.
