Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Hi

I have an ECU fault and it appears the way forward is to replace the ecu, bsi, fuse box, clocks and key.

My question is does both the S/W and H/W number have to match on both ECU’s - I have potentially found one but the S/W is one digit out.

Hi,

thinking of replacing my headlamps, non-lens. Found good ones with Lens/halogen.
Physically they will fit, but my question is will they work? Are wires the same? All their functions like auto-leveling.... ?

Hello all,
I have a 2018 Citroen Spacetourer 1.6 HDi that has a very strange issue with the wiring.
I have two issues.
The first is that the side lights (small W5W capless bulbs) do not come on regardless what position I put the lighting switches and stalk in. I have tested the bulb holder and there isn't any voltage there. No fuses have blown...

The dealer, but they won't provide these to you directly. You'd have to pay for a subscription to access this and that is on a timed basis, so can be expensive if you're not sure how it all works, or just get the dealer to look at it for you.

Hi all,
I'm new to this site but needed some help with my citroen c3.
I just bought this car from auction however someone messed around with ecu and fitted a 1.1 ecu.

At the moment the doors don't lock (only the boot does), its got the engine management light on and anti pollution light is also on.

The sound advice is to ensure you are replacing 'like for like', so make sure you match the part numbers if replacing an ECU or you must be prepared to expect problems, regardless if it is an Engine ECU or BSI or other ECU. Afternoon all, I've got to do the wheel bearing on my Dispatch. A couple of years ago I did the other side and the ABS sensor ended up getting wrecked trying to remove it. Was I unlucky or is it the norm and worth ordering the sensor as a matter of course the same time as the bearing?

I'm beginning to be grateful that the rear hub bearings on my Aircross are integrated into the rear Discs, so no grief there. Just changed mine recently. A little more expensive as they include the hub and ABS ring, but a lot easier and quicker to fit.

The main trouble with the petrol C6, at least here in the UK, is finding one! Very rare car and when they do come up for sale, there always a hefty premium on the price, often double a similar 2.7 HDi.

Sure its a lovely smooth engine, but they lack the low down grunt of the diesel. I haven't driven a petrol C6, but I've driven the 2.2, 2.7 and...

Hi, my S2 Xantia. sometimes when I reverse out of the drive in the morning, I hear a squeak , binding of the front O.S. brake caliper, it only happens very briefly . I am guessing the caliper needs a good clean. never done it. is it straight forward? Thanks in advance Terry.

Got a knock at rear of car, when going into reverse. Knocks just as you go back. Once each time you go from forwards to backwards.

Sounds a bit like twanging sound. hand a inital lock and cant see anything obvious.

Any pointers please.

Hello Everyone,

Been having some grief trying to get a carbon filled injector and sleeve out of the car and eventually succeded having replaced the sleeve etc.

Been reading one of only a few topics regarding a suggestion the bolts are stretch bolts, so tonight I thought that I would try to carefully remove them with the intention of renewing...

Huskyxantia suggestion is a good one, unfortunately the top of the stud is M7, so a bit harder to find nuts to suit (11mm head)

Weirdly the lower bit screwed into the aluminium head is M6, why a stud would step up in diameter (M6 to M7) I just can't fathom!

I had success removing them with an impact screwdriver, but the tighten then loosen...

Recently have been getting a fault on my C5 parking sensor system (error message and no display when in reverse) but ignored it as it wasn't critical and have only had time to have a proper look this weekend.

Plugged in the lexia, did a diagnosis and it came up with failed rear sensor. All well and good I thought, so replaced the sensor, checked...

These sensors are VERY sensitive and if they are dropped they can be damaged permanently. Diagbox should tell you what the issue is, do you have the proper fault codes as these are not returning anything.

These aren't available that I can see as they are special tools. Best bet is to improvise and use the centre of a wheel cap to mark the centre with a marker or similar.

Hello.
I need help identifying the plastic pipe that looks flexible but is actually quite rigid on my 2007 Berlingo van 1.6 75hp diesel. See pics.
It runs under the fuel filter then round the back of the engine under the air filter and joins a fitting where the large ‘U’ shaped hose is. I’ve tried several parts suppliers but no luck as yet.

Thanks for the tip, yes, the immobilizer is the problem. Since then I towed it to the local repair shop and they did found some error codes relating to the immobilizer. Transponder fault or something similar. They wasn't able to clear the fault code, said to bring it to an official Citroen shop.

Sounds like theres a serious earth problem to me , find all earth points clean them , check the glow plug relay if thats gone to ground then the plugs might stay on longer than they should , youtube will have videos how to test glow plug relay, hope this helps.

Hi, just purchased a 54 plate Picasso 2hdi. The seller claimed the battery was poor.
Every morning it fails to start first turn of the key and sounds as if the battery is going dead, but it always starts 2nd turn of the key each time.
Its fine then rest of the day. I am thinking towards a slow starter? Any help would be appreciated.

If battery is old might be that , 75 amp hours is good more is better, glow plugs , ngk rubbish bosch better, charge the battery any thing over 5 yr old will need good charge. And yes if the starter is old it will turn slower , changed my one and it started faster

I've come across two different part numbers for a genuine C5 X7 front upper ball joint.
It looks like they both fit pretty much all models, all years and plenty of Pug 407s too so does anybody know the difference between a 3640.57 and a 3640.74 please?

All aftermarket suppliers list their part as being equivalent to both part numbers and there's...

Well, if anybody ever needs an answer to the same question then the simple answer is that there is no difference.

I now have two identical ball joints - one came out of a citroen parts bag marked 3640.74 and the other from a bag marked 3640.57.
The actual ball joints are exactly the same in every detail.
They are both have a tiny Lemforder logo...

Hi All.
Just a little history to explain the question.
The Aux Belt tensioner has become very noisy and acting like a pogo stick so needed to get that replaced along with the Aux Belt.

However the diagnosis is that the Alternator Pulley is at fault but not the main Pulley but a free wheeling pulley that has siezed and putting extra strain on the...

Despite a committed and energetic first half performance from me, with a long breaker bar and a scaffolding pole, the crankshaft pulley bolt refuses to slacken. Currently this has me stuck. I need to get round this somehow in order to rectify the aftermath of a broken cambelt.

Yes, the broken cambelt was entirely my own fault-ignoring the oil...

Once, and this was when stripping a Mazda RX-8 Wankel engine with a view to rebuilding it - a subject worthy of a topic all of its own - I had to heat the nut on the end of the 'crank' (forget it's proper name now) to well beyond cherry red using oxy-acetylene before it would undo!

Hi,
Not sure if this has been discussed but apologies in advance

My digital display flashes from 84c to three lines pretty much all the time. The manual gauge sits about right when running temperature is met.

Would it be safe to deduce that the digital sensor may be faulty? Where and how easily van it be located and replaced?

I have Citroën AX 1.5D 1995, it has been through three MOT during of owning this car, today my fourth MOT has failed because the headlamp is point on the wrong side and I can't be trust him because it has been through the three MOT in the last four years at the same place but with different mechanicals people. I have not bought new headlamps...

Hi all.
Purchased a used Citroen Grabd C4 Picasso 1.6 e-hdi auto (ETG6) yesterday.

I feel like there is something wrong with the gear change.

When the car is accelerating, and there should be a gear change, it feels like there is a short powerless before the gear change happens.

The revs don't drop.

I would like to remove the panel/cover shown in the picture attached. my attempts so far, yield nothing. there must be some trick to remove it. hope that you can help. it is at the back of the center console, under the rear cigarette lighter socket.

You need to lift and roll back the carpet (2) at the rear to expose the trim clips (a). Remove these to remove the trim or expose the other clips if you need to remove the inner trim.

Hi all,

I have a Citroën dispatch 1.6HDI, the engine warning light was on, with a P1352 fault code. I found what the fault was. It was an earth strap loose on the back of the cylinder head. The 10mm bolt was missing. Since I secured the earth on the back of the head and cleared the related DTC. It has cleared the P1352 code.

I'm now left with...

It's presumably in limp mode, but neither of those codes will cause it. If the power and ground is OK at the pump, then the pump is probably stuffed. The second one means that the DPF has reached its predetermined life - but it will probably be OK if you just tell it that has been replaced.

I am having a strange problem on C4 Picasso ABS (Mk2). I get the feeling through the brake pedal that ABS is pulsating the brakes at all speeds, in dry and non slippy conditions at all speeds. I have no ABS/ESP warnings and when i put Diagbox 9 on it, it claims to fail to communicate with ABS so i cannot find any faults via that method. I...

Update:
I tried many versions of Diagbox back from previous to 7.57 too. All gave the same thing on this ESP9 module, original and spares.
I did try to see if it would let me telecode any ECU's and it seemed perfectly happy to let me fiddle with the Engine ECU (dangerous I know, but i just swapped over Speed Limiter and proved it had been saved...
