Tyre pressure monitoring fault

Unread post by Rasoo67 »

hi guys looking for some advice please.
Bought a C3 Picasso last year when we got in it and started it tyre pressure monitoring fault came up the seller sent it back to the people who fitted two new tires. They checked the sensors and said that they were fine so it went to an electronics guy and he said it was the offside mirror drivers mirror Has a sensor which is at fault. Does anyone know if this is correct? The car has just failed its MOT because of the fault on the dash before I buy a new mirror I would like to find out if this is the case looking forward to your answers thank you Ray.

Welcome along!

Yes, if the external temperature sensor is faulty, it can upset the TPMS (this is probably the later type where there are no sensors, it just works it out from the relative wheel speeds). Check in the handbook that it doesn't just need re-initialising. Do you have a temperature read out on the dash - and does it look correct? It may well be possible just to fit a new sensor rather than a whole mirror.

Thank you
Hi apparently there is a temperature read out on the dash , but according to my wife ( it’s her car) it hasn’t worked since we have had the car. So hopefully a new temperature sensor will do the trick. Thank you Richard
