This has caused some problems for organisations like ours and the Team are currently looking at the best way forward. This...

C2 specific sub forum?

by Chalie n Andy » 04 Jul 2024, 18:32

First post

Hi all :)

Does anyone know of a C2 specific forum in here or anywhere?
Ours has been a great little car for over 10 years and now has 94k miles on an 08 plate. Mostly covered by us. Not mega miles per annum I know.
So we're just wondering if there is such a sub forum?

Last post

No separate sub forums here for any specific models, if you have any issues or questions just post them in the Citroen Forum & someone will pick them up.
The C2 is also practically identical electrically & mechanically to the C3 too.

Thank you 👍

You all went for the music but did you see the other link?
That was the US base at the Pheasey Estate an estate that was just about completed before the war started and allocated as barracks for the GIs when the came.
At the end of the war it was left empty all but the guards, the local kids all got in and helped themselves to kit that was left...

How do you stop a runaway engine?

by Vic Evans » 01 Jul 2024, 11:16

Reading a recent post reminded me of one of my GD's car, a Fiat 500 from memory, which suffered an engine runaway.
She had no idea what to do so took the sensible option & ran away herself whilst the engine destroyed itself.
Other than blocking the engine air inlet or putting the car nose first against a wall before dropping the clutch in the...

Just another option, same method but I used the car's handbook from the glove compartment across the air intake, the plasticised cover makes a pretty good seal! :-D

I've also done this!!

In October 2014, La Poste paid homage to Citroen by issuing a series of stamps. These were the models that made it and who would believe it the Xsara is in and the Xantia is out!

So if you come across some nice or awful car related postage stamps from around the world shove a picture up here.

I do think that this illustration of the Traction...

Wanna buy a hospital?

The NHS has built a new hospital so the current hospital is on the market, it was largely build and funded by local business and 'Friends of'
The new hospital was supposed to cost £11 million but I wouldn't mind betting you can multiply that by four and it has less beds than the two hospitals it's replacing.
Here though is the for sale notice for...

I note they don't name a price. Why not buy a nice affordable Australian pub instead? Given what we are paying for houses now, this seems an absolute bargain!

Citroen Will Drop Small And Large Cars Focus Profitability

Have we heard this before?

I know my memory is absolutely rubbish but.......

Back in the late 1990's didn't Citroen say that the XM was the last large Citroen when they launched the Xantia?
Yes it makes sense, but doesn't the length of the car help with aerodynamics & efficiency?

With the quest to picture all the AA boxes almost at an end I wondered if a suitable replacement collection may be Double Slotted Pillar Boxes . There are 128 images on Alamy so plenty of targets out there, how many ORIGINAL ie OWN WORK photos of them can we compile? Foot brakes - the GS (Others?) had a floor mounted button , instead of a brake pedal which was interesting until you got used to it to say the least.

The standard pads were easy enough but the handbrake pads a nightmare, had to be set with a feeler gauge.

Hi All,

So, having recently acquired the 110k mile C3 Picasso Dogmobile, and managed to sort out the radiator fan not behaving itself, I’m now in pursuit of the diesel knock issue.
As the injectors have just been replaced by the dealer with refurbed units from WT Diesel, and the car having done 6k since the last service, I thought it best to...

That is mainly because the FCF allows no advertising or affiliation with any commercial concern.

Okay, I guess that’s fair enough if those suppliers offering discounts do so in return for advertising or recommendations on the site.

But I guess if they offer a discount to forum members on the basis that doing so may gain them more business...

My apologies for the “Help” hook to get you to look at this thread. This is not the usual Citroen related request for help. I’m writing this, Firstly, to offer some advice to those of us with prostates which may save your life and secondly, to ask you for a small sum for charity.

I read an article that claimed the makers changed or added a WD40 ingredient in the 90's which is acidic. I must admit I've never been overly impressed with using it as a lubricant though it makes a good plastic polish and smells ok. :)
