Just had to say

Unread post by Vic Evans »

what a marvelous place this is.
I've been a member here for almost five years & am constantly & pleasantly amazed at the content posted with humour, knowledge & humility. No prima donnas here, which are all too familiar on other forums, & long may it remain so.
I joined to ask a few questions about my french cars but quickly realised this was so much more than a car forum with off subject threads which make this one of the first places I now look most mornings.
The wealth of knowledge available is formidable & the time freely given by Marc & others outstanding.
Brilliant forum in all ways.
My respect & thanks to them who keep it running

Without doubt Vic I believe the FCF is the closest thing to Tim Berners Lee's vision when conceiving the internet. A free, well mannered, amusing and entertaining exchange of wisdom, knowledge and wishes among members with a common desire.

The main drive that maintains the forum is the contributions of members, supremely supported by the best Forum admin team in the world.

A duff admin team would result in a useless forum - there are many around!

A lack of member's contributions would result in no forum!!

Firstly thankls for taking the time to express your views Vic, thats exactly what the FCF is for many of us.

New content and regular contributors/responders are the lifeblood of the Forum, and what keeps up the interest is seeing something new to look at comment upon when you log in on a daily basis.

With the flimsiest of French Connections now (a renault clio in the maintenance fleet), for the reasons you mention, I have hung around and contributed to the forum for a number of years. Mick put it nicely.

In my time on the forum it has always been like that and long may it continue.

Thanks for saying nice things about the forum. The team that keeps it ticking over is grateful that we have a community that 99.9% of the time stays within our unwritten rules of civilised behaviour.

That's great to hear Vic :D

I do indeed agree with all the comments so far! I've been here a very long time now and it just gets better and better as time goes by...

Am I allowed to use curse words now !? It's nice to hear comments good or bad. There's so many threads that we help with that don't reply, hopefully it's because the issue has been resolved. It's rare to get a reply back from those threads. So thx for the kind comment. It means a lot to the people here.

I totally agree Ryan.
Nothing worse than taking time to help someone & not receiving any feedback/thanks indicating that your efforts have even been read.
Some folk are either natural takers or just plain thick where common decency is involved & are more than happy to use numerous posts to obtain information but 'forget/ can't be arsed with' the few feedback words that keep these places going such as " Many thanks for your help etc, etc."

I was planning to hit and run with my question, but this place does indeed seem nice :). I think I'll stick around for the good vibes and learn something along the way. Am only here a day but you make a fine point fine sir.

I agree that this is the best forum I have ever found, the wealth of knowledge from members, Admin, and of course Marc, I think if you cut him open he would have PSA Running through him like a stick of Blackpool rock.... I have been in Engineering & Mechanics since the mid seventies and always though I had accumulated a lot of knowledge, but after being on here realised I am still a learner...Thanx to all of you
Thanx to all the admins & knowledgeable people that make this the best forum on the interweb. BUT COME BACK MARC , We miss you! =D> =D> =D>
