The Guardian has published an extract of a book which pairs European car of the year with buildings of the same era. 10 pictures, of which 2 Citroens and 2 Renaults + 1 Peugeot, so some FCF readers might enjoy. Plus a Rover SD1 in a colour I don't recall seeing, maybe they didn't sell or maybe my mind is good at erasing unpleasant memories. I wonder of they called it "cat sick green".

Re: Car and building pictures
Interesting Richard, Chris (White Exec) hasn’t posted for some time, but very knowledgeable about Rovers contributed this in Favourite Colours For Cars a few years ago. That green shade is Avocado. Very of the time.Richard_C wrote: ↑14 Jul 2024, 16:31 The Guardian has published an extract of a book which pairs European car of the year with buildings of the same era. 10 pictures, of which 2 Citroens and 2 Renaults + 1 Peugeot, so some FCF readers might enjoy. These cars were painted on the SD1/Metro production line at Longbridge, iirc, where they cocked up the polarity of the electrolytic painting, getting bubbles of hydrogen (allegedly) in the paintwork. Hundreds of SD1s were embarrassingly repainted under warranty, and many late P6s were affected too. Bonnets peeled, and paint on sharp edges did not fare well. Wisdom was for collectors to beware the P and R reg cars.
