At this time of year lots of us trot off and do the same thing, year after year. Here are some snap shots of our Annual Pilgrimages. However, feel free to add anything, even it is your first time and you think it is worth the trip.

There is Cherry Cake, Real Cherry Cake and then there is Fisher and Donaldson's Cherry Cake. Not until the onset of...

Watched a video about the nissan leaf battery pack being disassembled, and was surprised to see what was actually inside of the 48 sardine can modules, when the youtuber sliced one open with a can opener...literally :-D

I half expected to see a collection of little conventional looking batteries inside the tin but no.....this

I have a Windows 7 Internet PC on my desk at work. You can guarantee that every time you want to get off quickly on shutting down Windows 7 for the day it'll announce it has a load of updates to install before shutting down.

This afternoon was one such. I wanted to be off punctually...

Shut down the PC...

A very Happy New Year one and all :-D

Enjoy the celebrations this evening and may 2025 be a tremendous year in every possible way!

There is a post on here from yesterday where a UK based new member describes his car as a 66 plate .
I'm UK born & bred living in France for the last 22 years & I haven't got a clue how the system now works & what year that car is unless I Google it.
Given that this is a forum with a worldwide audience, who would also have no idea, might it be...

I put some of my old tools on Ebay, noted one of them was sold...…...to a guy in Germany, he asked for the postage cost £11.99 Parcel Force drop off at the post office round the corner, simple.

So I tried to book it, got all through the form filling, getting the German address into the silly fixed but obligatory boxes was a struggle, then it...

Over the weekend a team of scaffolders set up on the house just away to the right front of my house, this morning this chap arrived at 8am and by 10.30 had carried up and installed from scratch, by himself 13 solar panels.

Using the desktop this morning, Microsoft Money, going to the Money home page brought up the BBC page on top of the Money page so a clash somewhere
Hit the restart button and it's come up with 'Configuring Windows do not switch off your computer' and there it's remained for over half an hour now with the progress wheel rolling. :(

Hand held lamp, VERY good output, rotary control, magnetic base.... £4.00 delivered, Amazon. Sealey do them for £34.00

This is just a big recommendation for my nearest Citroen dealer.
I bought the used C5 Aircross from them in January this year with a 12 month warranty,
a couple of times in the past months I get an intermittent Adblue Consumption fault warning , it usually lasts for about 5-10 mins then goes away, The last time I was in the dealers I mentioned it...

An sticking this question here as its not vehicle specific.
DCT transmissions, do they use the clutch and flywheel as a normal manual transmission, all the info states they have two clutches within the gearbox?

Neil has pointed out that we don't have a thread for wheels so I thought I'd get one rolling. So here is a new thread to post up pictures of wheels you have come across, love em or hate em! and any wheel related anecdotes !1 :)
As an initial posting here is a picture of one of my favourite wheels:

Hi all.

Am asking if owning a diesel to drive 5 to 6000 miles per year, motorways mostly, is actually practical?

It will be driven weekdays only if raining.

At weekends I'll usually do 70 miles roundtrip motorway, very little B road driving.

I have been reading other advice, diesels only for 10,000 yearly minimum for the dpf health. But...

Took the Zoe in for its scheduled service yesterday, I've never seen inside the dealer's workshop, it's a sit in the waiting room and drink coffee place, thought it would be nice to get in there and have a walk round under the car but couldn't be bothered................got this in an email today.

I have just heard on Talksport that Newcastle Falcons have been put up for sale!! I fear potential changes in the offing!! :-D

With identikit car design de rigueur the only unleashing of creativity appears to be in the design and appearance of lighting. Yes, and there are probably many which fall into the category...awful.

My encounter today with a Toyota Prius seemed to reach the ultimate of the current crop of rear lighting with this.....

But its all a matter of...

Anyone here rebuilt the above model jack, from the early 1980s model sealey yankee 2050 cx ?.

Paint Codes, the changes to the mix etc.....

HOW can we overcome this problem (if we do not want to get scans done/the cost/time of scanning)

Are there any sites that document the old mixes that we can maybe supply to the paint mixers (if we are not looking at a full respray and only need a tin/touch-up)

For example: CITROËN ROUGE CERISE EKL...

I just came across a little post on Instagram about this, so I looked a bit further into it.

Have been in hospital for the last few weeks, diagnosed with prostate cancer, home now for long term treatment but may not be much contact. :(

Only joking about the C6!

So I think War Horse is gravely ill and I will have no real option but to send it to the knackers yard on 1st April.

The door gaps appear to be opening up. The sills are positively shot it in the negative sense.

Anyhoo!

So what next?

I’d like a car with zero VED rate and ultra high claimed mpg.

To this end, I’ve...

I presume we all like motoring for social domestic and pleasure purposes, maybe even some for business to, but at various points the old jalopy has to be parked. This thread is to mop up your parking tales and hassles.

Here's a starter from me

I thought we had one for this but couldn't find it after typing it in different formats. I would like to other up..... Condorman!!! Watched it as a kid and I think it's superb for a young person.

I have been enjoying this thread started by Chris (White Exec) Moving on-finally with the discussion starting off with the recent decision of 4 major World cities to phase out diesel vehicles by 2025.

Maybe the time is also right to gather together a bit of an information/knowledge on electric vehicles focusing on conversions and what could be a...

Other threads have picked up opinions on the subject as an aside, but heres a thread to mop up whinges, problems, solutions and developments.

My recent journey home from Manchester gave me a little first-hand update to the state of play on public transport within the boundaries of the Northern Powerhouse .

Thought it could be interesting to see what some of you see as the best looking of the current (or recent) market...

Start a new thread in January. Join in with your own examples of good/bad or ugly special editions. Anything goes not necessarily French, although Renault in its yuppie heyday did a couple of nice ones on the 25.

I have 23 plate Berlingo van which has been involved in minor bump , its drivable but you are unable to open the passenger door, the flapping bumper & a wonky headlight probably mean the vehicle should not be on road ?

The bodyshop are a bit unless & are unable to start the repair without a bumper is...

I have a picture, but not a thread for it. Not necessarily an A to Z but I may try and play that game myself.
What it needs is original close ups of the badges bearing the makers name. Its a collection, duplicates and variations encouraged. At the very least I would expect the assembled throng of the french car forum, to weigh in with a bit of...

Re purposed thread....to explore the excellent info already posted up on the forum with little quests

I posted up a link to a film today on the Pictures of the Day thread which Chris (White Exec) enjoyed, but maybe missed first time round; it was in 2014, so well lost to new viewers; once posted never to be revisited Original post Austin 8...

I had never heard of this edition of the breed until Jim mentioned it on the Interesting Interiors thread.

So if you haven't heard of it, or have heard of it and want a nostalgia trip, and have 4 minutes to spare give this a watch. Plenty embryonic but for the time advanced tech and a taste of...

Simple title, and my personal expertise on such things is also simple, bordering on the non-existent. Happy to learn from others who know more than me.

Zelandeth recently had a 4 Wheel Alignment on his Volvo at a local specialist and was happy with the service he received as reported in his blog here, producing a nice little before and after...

Watch out when you are parking in the various service areas. My van was attacked in broad daylight between 12:30 and 13:00 today (03/10). Because of other factors (like nothing being caught on the CCTV) it is likely that I unknowingly parked right behind the perpetrators van. Although my van is visible on the CCTV, the nearside is not, and that is...

How about a new tradition, a first day of the month new thread.

So today October 1st 2020 and today only,
Can you contribute an original picture taken today, to assemble full set of Citroen cars spotted today from C1 to C5 to make it easy. :?:
C6's and C8's arent an everyday spot but bonus points if you manage to photograph one of those....

...and on the third day, a thread was provided...

When you spot a vehicle with the new reg 74, post up a pic. Thread expires midnight on the thirtieth day.

The time has come for a return to the Northeast to catch up with developments at Beamish and touch base with other members. So Jim and I are venturing North again on Tuesday September 24th to spend two nights at the Lambton Worm and the intervening day visiting Beamish and hopefully catching up with Steve and Neil at the very least. Then we shall...

The best way to knacker your vehicle electrics down the line....

I wonder how much a pop they're charging for a tow?

I've seen just about all BMW cars fail going through, but a good number of Citroen and Peugeots going through, still a bit flipping daft when there's a detour around the ford. They other week they had the Police waiting for...

I bought some LED encapsulated 501 side light bulbs off ebay.

IMG_20240924_195036.jpg

They fitted well and are virtually identical in size and shape.

IMG_20240925_091803.jpg

However, on the camper van ( Ducato ) they threw a bulb failure warning light. On the Vitara they did not. So much for being Canbus error free. They do give a good...

Entertainment has moved on apparently, but Ceefax did provide a bit of interactive entertainment with your remote buttons!

...and guess what...Ceefax has gone of course, but there are still people out there, retrieving its history from VHS tapes and you can actually play selected bamboozle again.

Now the questions may be a bit tricky now, but by...

This is a series of videos covering the rally I've put here the link to the first I assume the rest will follow on:

Well it doesn't run continuously so here are the other links:

I have just joined the ranks of the French Car-less brigade and replaced our Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 with a Suzuki Vitara SZ-T. Why? Because we couldn't find any reliable garages that would work on an EV. Yes, a Hybrid4 is apparently an EV. At the beginning of the year we wanted to have the main generator belt replaced after its 7 year stint so got...

Just saw this recent interview with Carlos Tavares on drop in profits - an interesting listen, covering brands, the Chinese, EVs and he just manages to get the e-C3 electric vehicle in there.

I need some new tyres for my 406(205/55/16).After some shopping around i`m tempted to get Michelin for £84 f fitted. But i can get Goodyear NCT5 for £57 fully fitted.Cheapest buget tyres are £45,so there not really worth it.I`ve never had Goodyears before although my company use only Goodyear on all our earthmoving machines & all cars & vans....

There are plenty of examples from the archives on the subject but the little snippet of the Six Bells at Ruislip being the location where Jet and Hank had a ride out on their scooters and came up with the name The Shadows for their band had me thinking time for a thread to celebrate Pubs/Inns/Hostelries. They can be elevated out of their...

Apparently out of 30,000 original AA Village Signs, only 65 exist in situ.

I've had some quite expensive new old stock Citroen parts sitting on my shelf for ages, offered them on Ebay and on here but no takers so I boxed them all up yesterday and popped down to my local Citroen Indi dealer and handed them over the counter free gratis, got a Well thanks very much, I'm sure we can make use of them.
