Only joking about the C6!
So I think War Horse is gravely ill and I will have no real option but to send it to the knackers yard on 1st April.
The door gaps appear to be opening up. The sills are positively shot it in the negative sense.
Anyhoo!
So what next?
I’d like a car with zero VED rate and ultra high claimed mpg.
To this end, I’ve read that the C4 Spacetourer fits the bill but as it was only produced for two years I am wondering if they were beset with problems.
Obviously I’ll be steering clear of the Puretech 1.2 engine.
What other cars in the Citroen or Peugeot stable should I be considering?
Ideally I want something that claims a 60-70+ mpg range.
Group thoughts much appreciated.

Re: What car next? C4 Spacetourer, C5, C6
C4 Spacetourer was just the re-named C4 Picasso, changed in about 2020 till end of production. None of these will be zero VED as it changed from 1st April 2017 to flat rate (except the first year) which has now crept up to £190 (or maybe more) a year. Some C4 Picassos in the 16/17 plate region are zero rated. The sweet spot for fuel consumption was probably the late e-HDis - you might get near 60 on a run with a (very) gentle right foot. Facelift cars from late 16 are better. eHDi suffer from injector troubles, but the replacement Blue HDis suffer with the well known AdBlue troubles - if you don't need ULEZ compliance then probably better to avoid the blue HDi versions. The cambelt on eHDI and Blue HDi was thinned out to 19mm from earlier versions that were on 25mm so early breakage is common - needs doing around 8 years / 80k miles. Front suspension components can wear early (ours is knocking, which I think is the struts - only done 70k). Rear ABS wires rub through on the conduit.
If big enough, Jim will tell you that the C3 Picasso is the best thing going

Well Jim's wrong, the C8 is still the best when coming to carrying loads. If looking at new cars the Tribute would be great if they build it. Peugeot do a 508 estate iirc relatively new, I posted pics somewhere on here. The owner went from a cactus to the pug and is impressed with it.

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.

My neighbour has a C4 SpaceTourer and loves it... So far, it's been faultless too...
