Heya all - so after 15 years of me pestering my wife is learning to drive, and has bought herself a 2004 , Peugeot 206 , 1.4 auto (1.4 S if it makes a difference?) . Not knowing its history - i would like to change the gearbox oil. Which gearbox is it and which oil please

Can someone tell me what is the red light on the left of a fuel gauge the icon it looks like a exhaust overheating or blocked? the car is too old to have a diagnostic tool. What is wrong?
