Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Hi guys

Following on from my C5 braking/ESR warning lights I have hooked up the lexia and identified this fault code

Permanent fault Electrovalve internal

Although lexia allowed me to click on delete the error, the error code itself wont delete. Tried several times both before and after a BSI reset. No other problems with the car.

The car is a Citroen C5 estate 2003.

There are so many on eBay, some at bargain prices, but first hand recommendation is worth everything : )

I only repair my own car, and that is normally infrequently as we do about 1000 miles a year.

I believe that like many of you - one of the biggest reasons you have picked a Citroen is the ultimate ride quality.

Hi White i have 2 C5 series 1 front centre sphere for H3+ both have a damper with I think 2 m centre orifice hole and thin leaf damper. The rear centre sphere is without the damper. i have swap a 50 bar front damper to the rear to test before. The car handling improve with better steering response but downside is the lower ride quality.

So had a bit of a shock getting out of the other car yesterday, when I noticed something not quite right near the C5s rear discs. Got out and gave it a good poke - then shot off to check what is was - turned out to be the 'Brake Disc Protector' had rotten through in places, leaving an odd shape - which is what initially concerned me:

I'm buying a new c5 x7 diesel estate and notice there are 2 versions of the 2 litre engine. The 140 bhp n 160 bhp. Any difference apart from power? Is one to be avoided?

Last night the drivers door in my Xantia locked perfectly with the remote as usual, but won't unlock.

The passenger door unlocks with the key, and the rear doors unlock manually. I can't get the key into the drivers lock, and operating the inside door button makes all the others locks bounce, like when a door isn't quite shut.

Any ideas what's...

Right - door lock problem sorted and fully functional once more.

I managed to loosen the door card enough for me to disconnect the small rod linking the lock barrel and the lock itself. When I flipped it upwards, mimicing unlocking with a key, the deadlock disengaged so I could open the door. I'd already ordered a couple of those Chinese barrels...

Has anyone ever fitted an Aux Water Temp sensor, such as this one?

Daughter's 1.1 TU Petrol C3 (2005) clearly has Electrical Gremlins (I'm thinking a dry joint or similar in the ECU) which is resulting in a false 'Overheating' reading, especially on long runs

Ok after doing some delving I find I need to replace the temp sensor which sends the signal to the dash.

I have a 2002 C3 LX

Anyone have the part number for this sensor and more importantly is there a picture showing exactly where it is for this model?

Hi I have a Berlingo 2.0 HDI m49 (mk1)

Its been a pain since the day I got it (mainly due to past owners bad repair)

The latest issue is charging or more to the point the lack off.

key in ignition on batt/alt light on, start her up batt/alt light goes out and alt charging at 14.2 at tickover headlights on, after a few mins stops charging...

I have a Berlingo 2.0 HDI mark 1 and the ECU is just flopping around in the engine bay it is fastened to a steel back plate but the plate is not fastened to anything, currently it is jammed between the battery and the black relay box,

Has anybody got any info on how this should be mounted? just I dont like the idea of it getting bounced about

Decided to fill up from BP instead of the usual Tesco stuff and a local supplier.

Noticed straight away that I could brim the tank with the BP fuel without an excessive amount of suds. Why would that be?

Don't forget to factor in Elloys fluid, injectors, turbos,egr valves, dpf replacement or clean out + diesel fuel costs more to buy.
Never see any major issues with the petrol ones.

Hello again!

Now the suspension strut is mended the airbag fault message has reappeared.

There are two possibilities: the airbag fault message used to appear when I pressed the horn section of the steering wheel, so I thought comms unit . However, the fault diagnosis on my mechanic's new computer says that the fault is in the driver's side...

My drivers seat in a 2008 C5 Hdi 6 cylinder Turbo Exclusive is always hot. The aircon is hopeless when the weather is hot because although it sounds like it is blowing up a storm, the air isn't all that cold or breezy and my seat heats up to make me sweat even more.

Hi folks, got a nice C5 (MkII 55 plate) but it is breathless on anything more than a slight incline. Its only covered 35K miles.

I had a C5 MkI Estate with similar problems that was sorted by swapping out the MAF Sensor. So I dutifully did same but to no avail.

Any Ideas would very much be appreciated.

Yep, that thing should definitely not be breathless! I have a 110bhp but drove a facelift 136bhp model and was well impressed with how it got along down the road...
Hopefully there's someone near you that can help with lexia.
My first guess might be something like blocked dpf, stuck egr valve or blocked intake filter...

The noise is more than likely coming from the interior temperature sensor fan at the end of the dash, try blowing though compressed air or take it out clean and use thin oil on the bearing.

Engine speed at start up is a lot higher recently. Guess could be linked to the colder weather because it was normal on warmer days. It can go up to 2000+ sometimes and stay there when I lift foot off the pedal, somewhat disconcerting at slow speeds! This condition is only temporary as it goes back to normal when engine is up to temperature after...

Strange things going on here with my Xantia. At start up from cold the engine speed is a little highish at 1200 ish with no evidence of cable sticking or dragging ie good response. With car underway at around 2500 revs, I lift my foot off the pedal to decelerate and nothing happens ie revs stay where they are. Whilst at this speed I select...

hi all.
ive been repairing a 2003 Citroen c8 2.2 hdi that i brought cheap.
i have so far repaired engine issues. and now runs & drives ok.
im still having a few problems!
the 3 sunroofs were all leaking and was abit of a swimming pool in the car! after several days attempting to repair the sunroofs i ended up sealing them all up to stop the water...

Good afternoon from a sunny, well it was Mullion Cove Cornwall.

Before I start the replacement of the rear height sensor any advice please on how to separate the Dog and Bone : )

I have read that it is better to do it at the drop link end as the sensor is plastic.

Is it just a matter of prising between the two items ? C5 2003

Good evening from a very wet and windy Mullion Cove Cornwall.

The wind hit 70mph yesterday evening, cars in the garage safe : )

The rear wiper appears to be loose on the shaft.

Any tips on how to remove the plastic cover would be of help : )

Mine turned out to be different, the cover over the rear wiper fixing nut just pulls off.

The plastic of the wiper had broken away from a knurled nut that threaded on the shaft.

I cleaned out the rest of the broken bits where it was attached to this nut and put a washer inside.

Hi I have Citroen Berlingo 600 van 2002 the heater does not get warm, the blower is fine as I have just changed the Resistor pack. This model does not seem to have a heater matrix or any associated pipework to run one, cant seem to find any mention on the web on how to rectify this problem, is this some form of 'black Art', do I need some...

I've been dreading a smoother ride for my Citro over the past few months since I've bought it.
My car has H3+ = 6 spheres.
4 of them were already changed with spheres @55Bar from Xantia and the ride did improve a bit (the old original spheres were making noises when shaken).

The two centre spheres do the most work when in 'normal' mode so they can have a shorter life than the corner ones. My experience has mainly been with XM's but I think the set up is similar. If they are flat changing them will make a dramatic difference.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before.
Whilst idly looking through Auto Trader tonight I noticed the 1.6 hdi engines are all listed as 8 valve, even the early 09 models. Is this the improved engine like that fitted to later Berlingos or another one? I didn't think it was available that early.

Hello again,
My centre section of exhaust sprung a leak so I had just the centre section replaced .
The original one had a silencer on it between the rear silencer and the cat --- the new one is just a straight through pipe between the cat and rear silencer .
It doesn't sound any different or drive differently .
Any thoughts on this would be...

The Xantia needed a new tank fuel pump, which arrived today. I was on my way over to fit it and the old pump finally coughed it's last, and despite the usual taps to get it going again it wouldn't run for more than a few seconds, so I was stranded! Got the AA out thinking as I have the pump with me it would be a matter of minutes to sort it out....

Following the increase in London congestion charge I was wondering if this anti diesel issue of increased pollutants and reduced air quality includes all diesels (lorrys busses black cabs etc) My main question is does the Eolys system make any difference or does it add to the dioxides etc. Reason for asking is my 2.2hdi is getting tired...

If your car has an in tank pump the easiest way is to disconnect the feed to the filter, place it in a receptacle or extend it and do so then just switch the ignition on.

Only thing with that is if you have miss fuel'd. You could be putting wrong fuel through a pump not designed for it?

If your car originally had TPMS valves but then the system was disabled then all you will need is the valves. Then you will need to have the system re-enabled and then the valves need to be paired to the car. This is something that the dealer can do.

If doing it yourself (or using one of our volunteers) then you will need a Lexia or Diagbox. All...

Hi, my S2 Xantias' wiper wash has stopped working ! there is fluid in the bottle, not frozen. Hi,

Recently serviced the car. New oil, fuel & oil filters plus oil change. When I went to start the car after replacing these items the MIL (engine warning light) came on.

It was indicating MAF and Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor. MAF fault was removed without the need to replace the MAF itself. This has been replaced but the fault still remains....

Turned out be be a corroded wire between ECU and sensor. Resolved now and going correctly. MIL has been cleared also. Went to a dealer in the end as I needed it fixed ASAP.
