C4 coupe, 1.6hdi gearbox model number.

Hi all, hopefully someone can help me.

I have a citroen c4 1.6hdi 110 that seems to love to throw problems at me recently. I've had the turbo go only a month ago, but that's another story for another time.

I believe my gearbox is going bad. I've heard some rather unhealthy noises coming from it and 3 gear has been more than a little crunchy to shift down in to.

At present, I have the car up on some wheel ramps to reattach the undertray and decided to use this as an opportunity to get the gear box code to try and locate a replacement. There's a high chance that it has a slow leak of oil on the nearside driveshaft, but I can't be sure that it isn't just residual oil from the turbo and water from the lovely weather we've been having in Blighty.

I've had a good look at the gearbox and haven't been able to see the code anywhere on the underside of it even after a quick clean with some brake cleaner and a wire brush.

I'm hoping that someone here might be able to shed some light on the correct box for my car. My vin is: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Id greatly appreciate any help with getting the right code for it. Love my little coupe and want to keep it running as long as I can!

"a" location of engraving of serial and gearbox numbers.
"b" Identification label.

A brand new gearbox will be part number: 2222LL (£5,910.23)
An Exchange Gearbox will be part number: 2333RK (£2,148.71)

Prices are for new or Exchange as noted above direct from Citroen including VAT, for info.

The code should be: CP 19X72
Markings will be either: DM75, DM7E, DM6J or DM69 for the new one or:
DMF9, DM75, DM7E, DMG5 or DM69 for an exchange.
