Service Box Tech Doc charges?

Unread post by pseud »

Hi Folks,
In the past when I've gone to Service Box to check what parts I need to order, it's not been a charged service - now I'm being asked for a subscription to find the part (for Citroen) to buy from Citroen!
Is this a recent change or have I forgotten how to use it?
Many thanks
Morgan.

Well, I've happily made a small donation - but, instead of troubling the admins on this forum, I think I'd prefer to trouble the man on the other end of the phone at the local Citroen dealership parts department - after all, that's what he's paid for...?

I have to say, it does seem just a little one-eyed of Citroen - perhaps, they're trying to keep their staff employed :o

Unless you're on really good terms with someone there you'll be lucky to get a part number out of them. They will give you a price but if they give you the part number then that frees you up to look for a better price elsewhere.

Paul is correct Pseud. I see you made a small donation - please see the notes below - if you would like us to provide you with Citroen part numbers and parts diagrams we do ask for a minimum £10 forum donation. So as you have already donated £5, if you wish to make another £5 that will be ok too and will upgrade your membership. Then post up your VIN (automasked on post submission) and let me know what part number you require.
A response to your question by a Forum Admin will require detailed vehicle information that requires you to have made a current contribution to the Forum.

... the donation is important because not only part numbers but also repair instructions are possible.
If it is only about part numbers, the link often helps
http://www.catcar.info/en/
All vehicle brands can be called up there.
However, the "VIN" does not work with older models, only the model selection.

We don’t supply repair instruction Wolfgang, just to be clear from the Forum perspective. Member
Parts donations support our costs to provide this part number and part diagram service.

If a member provides some repair instructions that they may have, this will be on a voluntary basis by the member.
