Xantia mk2 3.0 v6 brake doseur hp line problem

Unread post by Scottculli »

Hey everyone how's it going, I've ran into a a bit of a problem. I've been working on my 1998 Citroen Xantia mainly on the doseur, just trying to find leaks and making the repair pieces out of old fuel line. I had to disconnect the supply lines and remove it to get, and i managed to make the repair pieces and are currently on the doseur right now. the problem I've run into is that now when I'm trying to reconnect the hydraulic union of the supply pipe to the doseur the pipes just wont go deep enough for the union to reach the doseur to be able to screw the threads in. I've tested to see whether it was the seals that where just making it to long to fit in the doseur. but even when the seals are out, the pipe union will not reach the doseur. i was given advice from some of the guys here that it is likely that the pipes where bent, and that is why they will not fit into the hole. my only problem now is that even though I know that it is the bent pipes that are causing the problem I'm not sure how to move the pipes to align them the way they need to be to fit in the doseur and was wondering if you guys had any advice or tips you could give me on this. :-D
Thanks Scott

That can be really difficult. Faced with a similar problem with one of the hydraulic components under the XM, I eventually unbolted the component so that I could twist and swivel it slightly to get the pipe to engage, then twisted it back to get the pipe alignment correct.

yep that's definitely true,i know that space in the engine bay is tight so rotating might be difficult, but it doesn't hurt to give it a try, this is just a guess do you think it is possible to remove the studs on the back of the doseur, just for access, as that might be worth looking into, well thanks for the response
