Citroen C5 x7 tourer boot button

Unread post by Falka »

Hi!

My friend 2013 tourer has that new problem, where the boot button doesnt open the trunk. It does close by the button tho.
This was after he changed his battery. He closed the trunk, then when he tried to open it by the trunk button, he heard one long beep. Since then, when he presses the button, he hears 2 beeps, but the trunk lock doesn't release (nor the electic lift de-clutches).

It's definetly not a wiring issue, since it does close by the rear button. Right now, the trunk only opens with the remote key middle button.

So strange...

I know some cars has an option to disable the rear button opening (as a thief prevention feature). I couldnt find anything in my 7.57 Diagbox regarding this.

Any help would be appreciated. :-D

I’m sorry I can’t help you with the cause of this, but coincidently the same problem has happened to my 2013 car this week. The tailgate opens via the remote control button and closes using the tailgate button. It makes no beeping noise though.
Good luck finding the cause.

As there can be so many issues and potential fault codes with this system, it would help if a diagnostic could be run (prefereably with Diagbox) and report back any codes you get on the system. This will help ascertain what, if any, problem there may be.

Coincidently, I needed to replace the battery on my Tourer yesterday and having done so my boot lock button now works again.
I suggest disconnecting the battery and re-connecting it again following the procedure below created by Marc:

As a closure. Somebody digged around the bsi connectors and it wasn't seated properly... :)
