Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

A morning of 'white' yesterday. While out shopping in Torre del Mar, within half an hour...
- a pristine white 848cc Mini Moke, made in Portugal (was able to chat to the owner)
- a white BX (only see two or three BXs a year now)

Hi all. First post here. I've been driving my C4 (1.6 2008) for a couple of months now, and it has developed an intermittent squeak when the accelerator is pressed. Getting quieter as the engine warms implies that something is expanding slightly and reducing the rubbing which is causing the squeak... could indeed be many things but I'll stick with the throttle body for the moment... :-D Could run a book on this one.. :)

Following an incident today where I had exited my C4GP, with the box in neutral and engine running. Senior moment I guess, I had assumed the parking brake to be on- a bad assumption. My wife tried to apply the hand brake, which of course is not there. All ended well and lesson learnt!

C4 Picasso 1.6 HDi 2013 model mk 2 it is auto or semi auto...it has a lever on the steering wheel and two paddles + and - on the steering wheel.
The lever positions are R, N, A, M
in M you can use the paddles.

I moved the car reversed into a space. Then turned it off. When I turned it back on the car started because the lever was in N position....

If I remember correctly, what happened is normal. If you switch off with the car in gear and then move to N before starting, the car will not start. You have to go back, as you did, to the switch-off position ie in the same gear as you were to reset.
I’m sure it’s all in the handbook.

2004 Multispace HDi. Tailgate firmly shut. Sounds like it is unlocking and locking with the remote and key. Just won't open. Handle feels connected, but that's all I can tell you.

The problems just keep on coming with my MK3 C5 tourer...

I just noticed a small (8cm) patch of oil on the drive. Had a look under the car and part of the engine is covered in oil.

A closer inspection with my phone reveals that one of the bolts is missing from it!

Any ideas what part this would be, or perhaps is there a common flaw which causes...

Recently purchased a 2008 C5 Exclusive tourer with a host of problems. Fixed everything but the air con is fighting back!

When i am travelling along at about 30ish and i put my foot on the brake peddle I get the same bong as when i put the car in reverse.

I just replaced a snapped clutch cable on my berlingo and I have a question about initial adjustment. I have not deal with self adjusting cables before. When I replaced the cable the clutch did not engaged at first at all. I removed the piece on the clutch cable that I saw visibly that it needs to be removed. I do not know how to explain it...

The oil low message appears regularly on my C4 so I regularly top it up.

I finf the dipstick very hard to read though, it always seems to show oil on the marker but I once took it for a service and was told it was completely empty.

How much oil should I be putting in, it take 5 liters I think but is there any way to tell how much is in there?

Hello!

I have a 2009 C5 that won't start. Starter kicks in, but it won't fire. I'm really struggling with it and not sure how to fix it.

There was an intermittent problem with the cruise control where it wouldn't enable, so plugged it into my friends computer and had the following errors:

Failed mot on brake imbalance. I was expecting there may be a problem with setting up the brake compensator front to rear, but in fact the imbalance is across the rear axle !
So question is, is this likely to be a cylinder or shoes or could it be the dreaded compensator ?
Also, I was considering converting to rear discs, any advice on which...

Fitted new shoes but handbrake very slack now. I’d have thought with new shoes it would tighten up not go slack !
I screwed the adjusters for a tight fit but still slack, any ideas ?

Hello guys! I have some problems in my 1998 Citroen xsara 1.8i v16 manual gearbox, Xu7jp4(FLY).

1. The Fan blower sometimes working and sometimes not. The connectors are fine, the resistor works. I checked the circuit going to the resistor and it gets 1-3 volts( not enough to move the blower). When the blower works the resistor gets 12 volts....

Hi there,
I was wondering if I could have a bit more help than what I've read regarding the electrics.
I have fitted the towbar and am now going to attempt the electrics. 7pin by the way not 13pin
I have a bypass relay which I am going to use. I have two black wire that goes from the 7pin socket
I realise that one black wire is going to the left...

Hi I have c2 1.1 with sagem ecu, the problem is that when you drive the car more than 4-5000 rpm it goes like in limp mode and you need to wait a while for the car to start going again. The codes on diagnostic are p0300 and p1336. I have put new spark plugs, coil and crankshaft sensor. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi All,
Not sure if I have a problem or not......
I don't think my air-con is working............
Heater works, turn cabin temperature up, blower gets faster, car gets warm, turn temp down, fans slow down a bit car gets cold, but not as fast as it has done!

Hi Guys

one of my keys i kept in the glovebox decided it would only work the remote locking / unlocking but wont start the engine. Message displays Antitheft fault. I have tried the hold lock button in the ignition and disconnected car battery to see if anything resets but still the same.

After moving in the shadows of the forum for years, I am stumped.

My C5 is lacking power. Hardly no acceleration in lower gears and really loses speed when going up hill.

If I unplug the connector to the mass air flow sensor, a pollution fault light comes (to be expected!) BUT the car runs perfectly like a rocket.

My 2004 c5 2.0 hdi (110 bhp) (77000 miles) has suddenly developed a gearbox whine in 4th & 5th only. The whine is worse in 5th than 4th and it is worse between 50 - 60 mph. Below 50 mph the box is quiet, above 60 mph I think that there is a faint whine, but it is hard to tell accurately due to the increased road noise.

Can a digital speedo (the one with screen) and radio be retrofitted/installed into an SX?
Do both unit types use the same cabling to feed on information etc?

No worries. I suspect there is a good chance (80%) that the previous person has identified that oval plug as the port that the official Citroen BSR relay unit / fuse box plugs into. Have a look at this picture. This is from the official kit for a C4...

Hi, Has anyone any tips or advice for replacing item 3 (longitudinal link I think) Is it best to replace as a whole or just the bushes?
On mine bush 11 has failed and item 3 contacts the hub carrier item 20 causing a knock. You can just see the point of contact in the photo.
Will the nut (71) be inside the car?

I'm gonna write a long post because my car is posesed by a limp mode demon. p1198(fuel pressure regulator) rarely acompanied by P1165(fuel rail pressure sensor)

I have a C4 coupe 2.0 HDI with Siemens pump.EGR and FAP OFF and remaped too 160HP+. For 6 months i have been strugling with limp mode when hard accelerating especialy in the higher gears....

I have a berlingo hdi van (53 plate). Whenever i accelerate over about 70mph an engine light comes on with a beep and the power dies and drops me down to about 50mph and wont accelerate. If i stop the engine and start it again the light stays on but the power is back to normal again. On a 4 hour motorway journey the other day it happened about 6...

I need a wiring diagram for 2015 DW10FD 2.0 Hdi diesel. Or pin chart to identify wiring around engine. (Especially TPS / accelerator /ECU.)

I have documented the symptoms before - car goes into limp mode on prolonged severe acceleration uphill, and Lexia indicates boost pressure too high. Power returns on restart and fault can be cleared and eml light switched off in Lexia. Probably the vanes in the turbo are sticking, but for a few quid I wanted to try everything else first............

Just a little word of caution for you, the citroen Nemo is more Fiat than Citroen; it’s one of those joint collaboration jobs. A lot of the ECUs and certainly the head units for the stereo are all proprietary Fiat branded, this can make diagnosis difficult in the event of any problems, just for you to be aware.

1.6HDi, DV6TED4 engine. The car failed MOT on excessive smoke. It off the scale. The engine was hot and I had dipethane already added. TBH you can see plumes of black smoke sometimes in the rear view mirror. I'm not sure where to start air filter is new and no leaks on inlet side. Could be a different test in the ROI. But the tests just got a lot more stricter here with limits reduced for smoke - as in DPF vehicles aren't allowed any visible smoke.

I’ve noticed a feature on my recently acquired 2008 C5 exclusive tourer. When selecting reverse gear (automatic), the climate control fan speed increases. :?

Can anybody shed any light on the reasoning behind this?

When the system is put into automatic comfort mode, the air quality sensor analyses the air. When it detects pollutants, it isolates the exterior airflow to the passenger compartment. So it activates air recirculation mode. Of course it can't detect bad smells - only...

Hi Everyone

Just a quick question, can you replace the bearings on the auxiliary drive belt idler pulley?
Getting strange noise when traveling and have used screwdriver to listen to the drive belt pulleys and it's either the idler pulley or alternator.
However no effect on lights or warning lights so I am starting with the cheapest.

I gather this suggests a short circuit to +ve.

(Use of the word 'coherence' suggests to me a mistranslation from French? What should it be?)

So, where to look?

I've disconnected the parking sensors and tested the loom for short or open circuit to the RH sensor connector. No fault found. I've moved the sensors around. Now Lexia shows fault ABC8, rear R sensor shorted to +ve.

Hi

My coolant expansion pipe (the very thin rigid plastic pipe with two click lock connectors that go into the radiator and the coolant expansion tank) is leaking at the radiator end. Unfortunately it is not the O ring as the coolant is squirting out where the pipe meets the connector.
I have looked for a replacement pipe but I am not having any...

With the subframe off the car I thought I would have a look for the irritating knock I have been getting and on examining the rear bushes on the wishbone found both had a lot of play.

When removed they are shot. One I can almost pull the bush off.

Fortunately I bought replacement wishbones and fitted same.

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows if it's practical to fit rear electric windows and mirrors to a low spec LX car.

Some models I've read about in the past have the wiring harnesses already present for E.g electric seats even where they're not fitted. I think the XM was like that.

I wonder if it would be practical to replace the rear...

Ah I see.

Yes the mk1 uses a circular 4 way rocker on the drivers door for the mirrors, the heated mirrors come on with the heated rear window, rear electric windows have a switch on each door and one on the centre console.

I must be thinking of my old BX that seemed to have countless unused miltiplugs behind blanks in the center console.....

The blind which surrounds the gear stick and keeps the slot closed as you move the selector up and down has disintegrated on my car. I have searched the usual breakers and auctions but to no avail, however I have discovered a complete gear selector for a 2008 C4 and the slot shape is the same as mine, so does anyone know if the blind from that...

Got a problem with the rear fog light on my ZX 1.9D estate, the lens was smashed and has completely come off.

Just need help on how to remove the light unit and hopefully where to get one? Tried Citroen dealer and local breakers but no joy.
Are there any other vehicles or models that share the same rear fogs? On my estate they are...

Got the car through the Mot.
Swapped the nearside rear fog to the offside as this is all that is legally required by law. That's what the garage did anyway

Will keep a lookout for one in the future, thanks for the help everyone

Hi all,

Well I have a leak from the LP pipe going into/out of pinion, Can anyone tell me which seal size I fit ?

I'm going to replace both seals as I had used the old seals when changing the rack in the spring was moving house misplaced my seals and required the car urgently. Managed to get 6 months out of them.

Hi folks,
My recently acquired C5 is excellent, but I have no front foglights. The bulbs are there, but when I try to switch them on there's no indication on the dash, or movement in the switch. When I turn the switch again, the rear ones light up. Is this a problem with the control stalk?

I think the tracking is off on the Xantia ever since I changed the strut tops and lower arm bushes a month or so back.

I called into National tyres and after asking what car it was, said they couldn't do the tracking on them because they're too old!

It's only tracking!

It seems that they have to put in the computer system what make and model...
