Identify codes

Unread post by Lancaster-c5 »

Hi all . I had been looking for C5 1.6 e-hdi and found
one in Southampton (I live in Norwich) I picked it up on Sunday 13.00 we had just got past Fleet services and the car went into limp mode , after thinking about just getting home we decided to get recovered by truck the rest of the way rather than being stuck in Southampton.I have put the car on the diagnostic m/c on Monday and it came up with these codes c1391,p0262,p0925 has anyone got any info on these. Also on another screen it said number one injector was not working ,is it easy to fit an injector ? I took a photo of this I will try and upload it ,thanks for any help.We finally got back home at 22.30 after two recovery truck transfersπŸ™„

You will need to pop the VIN up (automasked on post submission for your security) so I can relate the codes directly to this engine ECU.

First of all, your vehicle is recorded as having an outstanding recall on it. It's an After Sales Campaign. I can't tell you exactly what the issue is - only the dealer can do this but the work will be free of charge, so I would get it booked in as soon as possible.

From experience this may well be something to do with the injection system as you have a DV6C engine and I believe this is related to similar issues. So before doing anything else, I would get it booked in. Just tell them you've been told there's an after sales campaign outstanding and give them your VIN or registration.

Hi Marc ,this is turning in a disaster ??I took the c5 in the main dealer today to have the recall done which they have done ,about 12.00 they rang and said the drop links needed replacing I. told them I would do them my self.
They said they will ring when the recall was done and the car was ready to pick up,when they rang they told me that the number 4 injector was running badly and it needed replacing at Β£920 😫also a fuel pipe had a clip missing ,pipe and clips Β£100 😫I had only gone in for a free recall. In an earlier post I'd put on the readings for each injector ,do they look bad to you as I might need to replace the other three .Any advice welcome HowardπŸ™‚
PS I had not used the car since having No1 injector done only eight miles to the main dealer today.

Hi All ,the saga of my C5 rumbles on .After a trip down to London coming home to NorwIch past Colchester FC the warning lights came on ie. ESP/ASR and the orange engine symbol and we coasted to the side of the road with a lumpy engine .when the recovery truck arrived he diagnosed the No 4 injector was faulty so he recovered us back home.
This what happened in an earlier post when I picked the car that was diagnosed as faulty No1 injector.
Just a few questions how. are the cylinders numbered L to right,or right to L .On our diagnostic m/c we have a fuel info page it said injector flow correction cylinder 1 [6.01] mg cylinder 3 [-4.96] cylinder 4 [6.01] cylinder. 2 [6.01 ]
Obviously we are struggling with this has anyone got any ideas about this or why no 3 is -4.96
Regards Howard πŸ˜³πŸ™‚

Injector 1 is at the flywheel end and injector 4 is at the timing belt side.

If you're handy with the spanners, contact Darwen Diesels (01254 53545) and tell them the saga about the injector. They will ask for the old injector should you wish to buy a recon one. For my 2007 C4 with DV6 engine (Bosch injectors) I was Β£95 + VAT for a replacement.

To be sure, perhaps do a leak off test as any bad injector will usually leak more diesel back than it burns. That's how I found a dodgy one despite the global test showing no faults found. It is just possible you have a bad plug or chafed wiring, so check that out too.

As per wheelers post, the French like to do things different so make sure you know which injector is which. If the codes were read on anything other than a Lexia/DiagBox, they will say No1 is at the pulleys end, when in fact it is as the gearbox end.

Be prepared for a battle with the injectors. I ended up having to spin mine out & drilling the nozzle cap nuts out and all that that entailed. But we'd had 9yrs of hassle free motoring with this car so I can't complain. I think the previous owner found out this car was causing trouble and chopped it in and now you're picking up the tab! People are such b@5t@rd5...

Good luck.
Has anyone seen the plot? :?

Thank you Doo, the guy who looks after my cars fell into the No 1 injector is at the pulley end trap. That info has cleared things up ,I will now remover injectors 3&4 and have them reconditioned πŸ‘πŸ™‚as the others are new.
I have a local injector engineer ,I will try him .πŸ™‚I think you are right about some one chopped it in.??
