I don't have knowledge of the Peugeot, but the issue of a loose connection is known with several makes of car.
I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

Hi,
I need to change my clutch in a dispatch (actually a scudo badge but not found a lot of advice on fiat forum!)
It's a 1.9d, year 2000.
I've never changed a FWD clutch before,only RWD. Not sure what is best to do and there are no manuals I can find for these models. Is it weasier to just pull the engine with gearbox attached? Or pull engine...

As the topic says my hydractive electrovalves are not functioning. Again...

Just put the car together again as I replaced the seal in the doseur valve which failed and there was LHM all over the carpet on the drivers side.
The battery was disconnected for a few days as I waited for the new parts.

Installed Diagbox 7.01 on to freshly installed XP 32 following Scary uTube clip updated to 7.04 using same video. Making sure no internet connection at any time, machine has not connected since fresh install, unblocking any window firewall promts.

Hi,

I have a 1998 1.9TD xantia estate S2 Model, today it threw the cambelt whilst the engine was only idling and Now I have a broken camshaft, I have lifted the Cam Cover to find the break on the drivers side of the engine, lucky it didnt break into more pieces as I have heard they can shatter in three places.
The Cap shells are all still intact...

As per my previous thread about whether I should sell or keep my C5, the general consensus was that i've been scammed by workshops. I have one small issue with my car that i'd like to get rectified.

The car leaks a drop or two of oil from around the middle of the engine compartment onto my driveway every day.

It's going in for investigation work...

Having had and loved 2 x Xantia estates I replaced the wife's car (one of the last Xantia 2.0 HDi's) with a new shape C5 2.0 HDi Exclusive, which is an absolutley fabulous car! We had no problems with it for the first 3 weeks, but it has recently cut out four times. It does so at low revs - three times while trundling over speed bumps in 2nd gear...

I was talking with a mate about Sylv's the other day who tinkers with Citroens and he said it has probably blown a hole in the heater matrix through electrolytic corrosion.

Obviously, ships use a block of zinc bolted to the hull to prevent it. Do Citroens have a 'less noble' metal bolted somewhere or wired in to act as a sacrifical lamb.

Personally I think the PH level is the problem with a cheap matrix. The fluid will become charged only IF there already is corrosion within the system as it is the oxides (particulates) that carry such a charge.
Control the PH--control the oxygen--control the corrosion.

We use a system like this to test the system water after 6 days of service....

Hi all, there's nothing going to the battery, but if I press down on the voltage reg. coil side to make contact (lid off) then the meter shows voltage to the battery. Now can I fix this, or do I need a new regulator. If so, would any 6 volt regulator do the job. I've read that I can bend the contacts so they touch, but will they open when needed...

I have just bought a C8 that had the catalytic converter stolen, I ordered the one i was told fitted but when i went to fit it the small pressure pipe from the sensor did not fit in the hole ( which i think is the size for a lambda sensor), I need a cat that has the hole the same size as the hole on the dpf for my small pressure pipe to fit onto,...

Hi, anybody know what the one on the far left is, looks like an engine wearing a seat belt ? Xantia HDI 2001.

I don't have a handbook and after the usual rev the living wossname out of it Mot this has now come on. Not there when it went in.

Just put my 3 year old C5 exclusive in for its first mot at local garage today and it failed on a major leak from nsf suspension. I was under the impression that the leaky suspension was sorted out on these new cars ? I thought they were sealed for life now. Two weeks out of it's 3 year warranty too. My father has just bought a 2001 C5 with with say nav built in.

However, the Sat Nav screen seems to be completely dead, that said the other day it did flicker at me so there is power going to it. The other thing is the CD player that is built into the radio does work and looking at another post it could be caused by the same thing....

Are there any issues sticking a set of 2002 C5 alloy wheels on a xantia. On the C5 they take 205 x 65 x R15, so I assume they're the same dimensions as on the Xantia V6 which has 205 x 60 x R15's. I just wonder about wheel nuts and fitting etc?

hi all I brought a c8 (2005-6) 2.0 16v automatic got it home and I couldn't get it to go into park (sometime it will sometimes it wont) has anyone got any ideas that could cause this.

The first thing to do is to check the Park solenoid mechanism is not fouling the lever returning to Park.

It will stop you pulling the lever out of Park unless the brake pedal is pressed but should never stop the lever returning to Park. Check by lifting the cover over the selector lever and checking the mechanical operation of the mechanism.

I wonder why the belt's in that condition. Could have been damaged during original fitting maybe?

Could be the tensioner has failed and is exerting uneven pressure on the belt. Easiest way to check the tensioner is to eye it and check it is sitting properly parallel to the belt run and not cocked off at an angle. It'll be easy to see.

I've been trying to resolve my problem with the heater fan/rear demister not working on a Xantia MkII 2.0HDi. I am getting 0.3V on Fuse F21 and Pin 3 on the Blower Relay. I checked Fuse B in the engine bay and I get 12V both sides. I understand that the feed from Fuse B runs directly to F21, so I should be getting 12V there. Is that...

Urgent - Leaking banjo on Xantia V6 4HP20 (now fixed)

Hi guys, changing the oil on my gearbox and found the banjo is leaking badly :(

I check the level on the dipstick before draining and it was in the normal range.

What should I do ? My plan was to disconnect the banjo while the sump is empty and reanneal the copper washers with a flame, will this work ?

Very urgent as I'm doing the job at the...

Hi all

I just bought a Xantia 1.9 TD, my second xantia as I already have a 2.0 HDi 90.

Problems:

Rev counter looks like it has gone right round the dial and got stuck at the bottom. It is completely lifeless?

None of the interior lights work, bit annoying in the dark... I checked the handbook for the fuses etc but it isn't those.

Im under the impression that HDi 90 and HDi 110 turbos are different. The outlet is in a different place and the HDi 90 uses an internal release pressure controlled wastegate, where the 110 turbos use a Vaccuum controlled by ECU via an electrovalve turbo, which defaults to WIDE OPEN waste gate if no vaccuum is applied to the wastegate end..

picasso alarm wiring

hi all got myself a 2001 Picasso 2.0 hdi 140k runs great but the alarm won`t work right will open the doors this then the next time it wont !! so I would like to remove the old one and fit a new one but alas I need the wiring diagram for the alarm can any one help thanks if you can

hi guys just a wee word to the wise if you are going to fit a alarm you will have to switch off the indicators as they are controlled by the cars security system if you don't it will affect the alarm your fitting ok

HI, how can I tell if a Citroen H van 6 volt, 1954 year, is pos or neg ground. The battery was not in it when I looked, so cant tell from that. :?

I have discovered a leak on the bottom hose going to rad...
Not a biggy I thought, I have ordered a new hose in, but taking a look at it today it looks impossible to detach hose from rad.....
Please tell me its not a bumper off job.??
Anyone tried this? Is it possible to remove rad to get at hose?

It looks like a std connector on service.citroen. If there is not enough room to get in to undo the clip / force off the old hose, then you will need to get the rad loose at least. Never done it, but it looks like there are 2 clamps at the top, so should be possible to remove it via the engine bay.

Xantia pressure regulator results

Before the regulator was cutting in at 155bar and cut out was 165 bar, should be around 145 to 175?

I put one 1mm shim in and it raised it but also raised the cut in pressure!

Hi all, does anyone have a theory why the cut in pressure was also raised when I only shimmed the cut out spring!? How do you go about lowering the cut in pressure, is it a case of removing the regulator spring behind the metal cap and adding or removing shims, not too sure as I've not looked at this spring yet.

Hi Guys,

On the 1.9 TD there were 2 bleed screws to release the air from the heating system.

1. at Matrix in engine bay
2. above/near to engine mount driverside.

Where are they on HDi 90 hp engine found the matrix one are there any others?

Small LHM leak above the rear subframe

Does anyone have pictures of the piping above the rear subframe. I think back in April I may have pulled one of the pipes going into the cylinder bellows a little too hard and caused a small leak in one of the pipes above the rear subframe. Has anyone come across this before? I had thought that it was a corroded pipe or a leaky connection. But...

I can't see any high pressure pipes going over the subframe in that area Paul and I remembered having to pull the return pipes tight back in April to get them to go into the bellows.
With my car it might be harder than you think.. everything's getting VERY rusty. I've coated as much as I can with Kurust but If any Nuts and bolts have to be removed...

Adjusting down toe-in angles on rear axle?

The toe in on my 2006 C5 wears my rear wheels down faster then the front wheels. As far as I can see the only way to decreas the toe-in would be to bend the axle
Is that possible without cutting, welding or heating?

Your absolutely right about it's the sign of busted bearings. But since I replaced my bearings a year ago, I can't imagine them to be rusted away already. But I will open up to check all is ok before doing anything else.

DON'T use the one off the old engine as they suffer badly if unused for any length of time.

Ditto any pump with an unknown provenance. Overhaul first. I might be able top do that for you.
