Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

OK the question as per title - the problem on my Xantia II Hdi 110, I have no power going to the compressor when AC switch is on and lit, low speed fans are whizzing round and blower is on and working at variable speeds.
What could be the cause?

Hello,

Why why might I be experiencingCitroen c5 extreme inside edge front tyre wear on both sides?

Citroen C5 1.6HdI VTR Estate, late 2006.

Severe inside edge tyre wear going through cords very quickly.

Tracking OK when checked for last set of tyres, 24,000 miles ago. No
subsequent damage, kerbing etc.

I have a 2004 Citroen C5 VTR. It runs perfectly well apart from the last two days or so. When I am driving it for around half an hour, the rear suspension seems to jump up without warning. It then goes to back to normal then after ten minutes or so jumps up again. I have never experienced this before. I am taking it to a garage on Monday but...

Sadly, on my way home this evening, the ride became hard and crashy on the front right (OSF).
When I got home I tried the bounce test and all the other corners bounce fine, but this one is rigid.

Anyone know if the Headlamps can be adjusted on the new C4 Picasso.

My old Grand C4 Picasso had on each headlamp, two white adjusters using a allen key.

But the new picasso don't have these, all I can see is a hex head screw into the headlamp near the inner wing on each side.

Hello!!
Lately the steering wheel of my Xantia is becoming hard when is cold,... specially at morning but it becomes softer when heated. I've checked the levels of LHM and everything seem OK :(
What can it be?

On the XMs with a 'V' belt drive it was nearly always the belt slipping, if yours has a ribbed belt its not so likely but worth checking.

Been told my 06 C5 lower arm bushes need replacing as have bit of twitching when braking, can I get just the bushes or will I need to replace whole lower arm units ?
Also N/S driveshaft boot has split, gonna be a bit costly as I have to do both weeping rear suspension gaiters that I have already bought.

have also got timing belt & water pump kit...

I ordered just the bushes back & front for the Lower Arms, difference of £100 without the metal.

Luckily for me I now have the help from a Citroen trained mechanic and a garage with lift to use :) :) could have had it...

I have previously changed the spheres on my LX which was pretty straightforward. Obviously the Activa has a few extra such as the hydractive and ram spheres as well.

Is there anything I should look out in particular for when changing these? Is the a particular order in which it's best to do them?

Well ive put in a call to see if any local dealers have any green spheres sat on their shelves.

They will come back to me with part numbers and from that i can hopefully match them upto cars and get the right specs for them as they are happy to discount them a bit to see the back of them and being in a nice cool dark warehouse shelf they should...

The rear washer on my 2003 C5 does not work. The front washer works fine. When I turn the switch to turn the rear washer on I do not hear any noise from the washer pump. Whereas when I put the front washers on I can hear the pump working fine. Is there a separate fuse for the rear wash wipe? Lee.

Same pump runs both front and rear so more likely to be a power connection than the pump its self. Could be anywhere from column onward.

Pump can be accessed through the front right wheel-arch if the inner shield is removed. Slightly quicker than removing the bumper (especially if you have headlamp washers in the bumper)

Hi All,
Before I go totally round the bend, can someone please tell me if they have successfully got a Lexia to read the dead-locking ECU on a 1997 Xantia please, or any S1 Xantia for that matter?
If you have can you tell me what info I can expect to see please. I still can't get the Lexia to read more than 3 ECUs, am trying all the mods to the 30...

I have a Citroen Berlingo, 2.0hdi, 2005 model. last week made a long trip south into searing 30*C temperatures in Manchester with stop start traffic jams... the water temp was going up and up without the fan turning on... Had to open windows & switch heater on full with the vents set out the windows to keep the car ok...

Granted, a Lexia check will fail, because it includes spinning the fan up. The car's own ecu won't do that, until it needs the fan in anger.
Then it's too late, though.
How many owners are going to check their cooling fans, using a Lexia session, when there's no apparent fault?
I know I wouldn't, especially if I was having to pay for the session!

I've started to remove the chrome from the plastic strips on the doors but the chrome is stuck on solid in places and won't move. I've tried soaking in hot water, heating with a hair dryer, a stanley knife blade but the damn things are on solid.

Any ideas for how to remove the chrome and just leave the black plastic strip?

Hi All,

My C5 (2003, 2.0 HDI, 109hp) has snapped a pushrod in the n/s rear suspension, I'm trying to track down a replacement without buying a whole strut assembly (£125+VAT from Citroen) but nowhere seems to sell them. I've tried GSF, Eurocarparts, TMS and a couple of Citroen garages, as well as ebay.
Does anyone know where I can find one of...

Chap knocked on my door recently offering to buy the cat/Dpf off my 2005 C5 2.0 for £50 if I cut it off for him. He claims he wanted it to fit to his car but the fact he didn't want it removed as a complete section made me a bit suspicious of his motives.

Anyone know what the scrap value of the cat/Dpf would be or what the value of the complete...

I'm considering a tuning box for the c5. Can get them for 55 quid off the bay, or could pay way over 100 quid for one. The cheaper one claims to increase power from 138 to 163/5, and torque by about 50, and an increase in mpg of about 3. I'm not wanting it for the power, but the mpg gains. Passed it's 16th MOT with only advises being that the tyres need replacing because of age!!
Not bad for a 19 year old car :-D :-D =D> =D>

Looking into 4 new tyres now £80 each so far cheapest Michelins.

Hi All,
Well I managed to load the Lexia (not Diagbox) onto a Windows 7 64bit laptop under XP Mode and after a bit of fiddling with the 30 pin socket I linked to the car. :-D Just played a little today but did do a global test but only managed to read anti-theft, aircon and injection, no dialogue with anything else. So is it in fact working...

Not a deadlocking problem as such but having got the system from Citroen Service it appears everything (alarm, plip, locking, interior lights) goes through the deadlocking ecu beside the handbrake. I just wondered if there were faults in the ecu would these stop the plip working, and if said faults were cleared would the plip work? I still can't...

Tried find the part no for the metal brake which holds the brake wear indicator wires and ABS cables on the front.

In some cases there's no logic to the allocation of parts to particular section/subsections - sometimes you can see the part you're looikng for greyed-out in the obvious subsection, but it doesn't appear anywhere else in that...

Hi All

Has anyone ever encountered a speedo failure on a Xantia, in which the needle is stuck right over on the end stop, ie 150 mph when it's standing still ?

This happened between taking the instrument cluster out, when dismantling the dash to replace the heater matrix, and putting it all back together again. It was fine at the start & wonky...

Memo to self: put note with spare instrument cluster Make sure that speedo needle is on zero stop before installing. If not, rotate entire unit to make needle to return to zero under gravity. It's currently stored face down in bubble-wrap.

This is the cars 2nd service and I was thinking of replacing the standard air filter with either a K&N panel filter or cold air intake kit cone filter again K&N.
Has anyone used any particular filter or setup that has shown good gains on mpg/acceleration. I'm after prolonging the life of the engine and my thinking is cleaner air and more of it...

I own a 2003 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi estate. I am thinking of having my wheels aligned as the steering wheel is off centre and when aligned they will correct it for me.

Does the C5 need 2 or 4 wheel alignment? My old Mondeo needed 4 but I understand older French cars have a fixed rear axle and only require 2 wheel alignment. Any help....

You can get a four wheel alignment done on any car that has 4 wheels, on the C5 yes it's not adjustable but there are specs for the rear geometry so it can still be measured, if the spec is out then it can point to problems like worn bushes or bearings.

hi guys don't know if you can help with this my car was running low on diesel today so I put 20 litres in and the gauge didn't move, I don't know if it matters but the computer didn't read any higher in fact as I drove the car it has continued to fall and is now on empty any ideas on the cause of the problem thank you

Moral of the story, never run a diesel too low on fuel. At best your gauge temporarily stops working, at worst the pump sucks up sediment from the bottom of your tank and blocks the injectors. :(

Hi All,
This may be the last daft question from me, but I doubt it :lol:

Can anyone tell me the correct position for the rear spoiler on an S1, measurements for holes etc. please. There is not one locally that I can look at, not sure if it's supposed to line up with the slight 'v' of the hatch or overhang the hatch.

Hello all just thought i wouold share a little issue on the c5 ,,, front window going to the top then comming down a little,,, put key on accessories take fuse 4 out of fuse box in glove box, try front windows they should not work,,, place New fuse in and try drivers side window it should go up in bits till it learns were the top is,, go to left...

Hope this is in the right place, if not if someone could move it, that would be great!

2002 C5 LX. Basic poverty spec with a HDi (110) engine. Changed the MAF sensor after I bought it and it runs well now, I do 30 miles a day in it. 4 tires seem ok to me!

Got a bluetooth/Aux in with phone control and microphone stereo in it. No lights lit up on...

Pretty sure the mk1 is a bumper off job too (well at least dropping the bumper down). one of the lamp fixing bolts are behind the bumper.

was driving and i lost powering steering managed to get home as not got far and it has slipped off?
