I don't have knowledge of the Peugeot, but the issue of a loose connection is known with several makes of car.
I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

I haven't had any problems with Firefox but after a Windows Update on the laptop yesterday, Opera was declared a security threat and shut down - I can live with that as I don't use the laptop for much and have three other browsers anyway, if needed.

I wasn't using Chrome at the time but see that that was completely cabbaged for most users too....

Really aimed at a somewhat rare breed - people who actively use graphics-heavy industry software and also know computer insides.

I am at the point where replacement of the old box (circa 2003) is sensible as a hedge against serious failure.

People send me - for work - PDFs which may be drawn at A1 or A0 size, and have deep layering of graphics...

I'm trying to help my father who is quite hard of hearing.

He has a little piezo beeper timer that he uses for cooking - carries it in his hand or pocket while it's counting - however the range/volume are slowly slipping out of audible for him. That's even with a hearing aid factored in.

Wondering if I can drop the frequency of a piezo timer in...

The dilema is i dont think it would get much on the bay or the like unless a collector really wanted it as its all original, but 1 quote so far was £1500 for a rebuild :(

Its an idea to get it nice but my FIL runs a show garden and nursery so unless we can find somewhere/one local to do the work it may not be worth the hassle of the bay as it has been really worked for its life and whilst all original(even the rad, oil, and coolant(whats left!)) it would need a lot of work, and i already have one forumer interested...

Currently there is an advert promoting moneysupermarket.com

It shows a guy called Dave who in a jungle setting has a car, :shock: which is a Pug.

He managed to drive it through the jungle not! :wink: :lol:

They have tried to disguise it, and lose the badge although in doing so they have put a V on it making it look like half a Citroen badge!...

What insurance group are they in? also what group is the Mk1 TD in by comparison?
What MPG do you get out of them urban and extra urban?
What are they like on LPG? ie running cost equivalent on say a 30 mile round trip journey?

Winter tyres are going to be an investment I think. I have one pair on my 'winter wheels' now, I just need to get a new pair for the front now. Though I got some decent used 16 C5 wheels from ebay for £100, with a pair of usable tyres.

For £200 you could get some used Citroen wheels in good nick with tyres too. No good if you want winter rubber...

I've just been cleaning up a V6 subframe for my parts stash, and notice it's stamped with both the lion and the Talbot logo side by side - but no chevrons.

Sure this part wasn't used on the Tagora, since that was RWD north-south layout. So - I wonder what they were thinking?

Malc sent me one of their droplinks for the 405, and one other brand, possibly Delphi (no identifier).

The OCAP one has fully welded ends, rather than pressed/fusion welded, and the rubber is of appreciably higher durometer than the comparable unbranded part.

He was going to buy two 512MB Kingstons (266MHz), which would've been $80 or so here. By comparison I can get him 1GB of Hynix off Fleabay for $35, or generic for $10 less.

Quite a bit cheaper than a replacement machine. :wink: Also, the more I save him now, the more I inherit - right? :shock: :lol:

Had to do a fair whack of driving in my mate's ute today. It's one of those sporty Tickford-modified thingies with rubber band wheels and no compliance in the suspension.

What a relief to get back in a French car - namely the Xantia! Honestly, my posterior and lower back were really punished by the dinosaur; not that our roads are helping in...

I had was working on a friend's MG TF this weekend. Boy does it need spheres!

I think the older F did have spheres.

Differance between a standard Xantia (not an activa) and a TF is the TF handles very well, superbly infact. The Xantia is set up for comfort.

We think the Citroen BoLs are bad enough...

You ain't seen nothing until you've seen the Rover 75 BoL.... In comparison the Citroen BoLs are paragons of accuracy and helpfulness...

A pal's dad's Diesel R75 had a duff alternator and we've just replaced it. Dead easy to do, just move the A/C pump to one side and job done. In fact just as you'd do...

My Landrover manuals are the original factory type. There is also a parts book with every P/N and pic. Rover went to a lot of trouble to do it but the trucks were simple enough.

I hop onto FCF's Index page, and the moment I click on one of its subforums I am instantaneously logged out/in and thus all topics are considered read ...

It's generating a bunch of cached index pages, too - often one if I'm lucky but now there are four plus the regular plain Index.

Any hints from the experts? XP w/updates, IE8, basic firewall...

Oil Pressure Gauge (Peugeot 405/309)

I am puzzled.

The Mi16 has a Jaeger pressure sender that appears very factory (by amount of grime around it).

There is no pressure gauge on the instrument panel for any Series 1 405 model. Also there appears to be taped inside the wiring harness, a spade connector for this sender.

Did the 309 with this same engine, have an oil pressure gauge?...

Is the sender a fattish white cylinder with one terminal on it Adam?

If so then yes, that'll be the factory sender. Also, the more sporting 309s were fitted with the 205GTi instruments which included an oil pressure gauge so yes.

Never knew of an RHD Mi16 309 although one was available in LHD. All we right-hookers had was the 1.9 GTi, a...

IIRC the training is meant to incite that the nose should always point in the direciton traffic is flowing so that there is a nice big buffer zone behind the occupants should anything hit for that exact reason, all the kit in the back can act as a small compressor to help absorb some shock load and thus save from more injury occuring..
