Birthday and Retirement

Unread post by Gregg1100 »

Just had my 65th bithday and also retired. After 49 years in work, 40 of them driving artics, I thought I needed a rest. Perhaps I can can get on with sorting the EN 500 and Gt550 now.
I am lettting my Xantia go. After 6 Bx's and 5 Xants- all of which have cost me fortunately little money in purchase and running costs, I can't now afford to really run a car. I have 4 supermarkets within 1 mile of me- if I want to go on the p**s, loads of taxis. The Hyundia which has proved so boringly reliable will go too.
The bikes are my hobby now. Something to rebuild, ride and sell on.
My son has caught the Cit bug, He has had 2 xantias, and now on a 55 plate C5 VTR 1998, 138bhp. He still says the Xantia(110 HDi) was a better towing car than the C5- I can't argue with that, as I have had all 1.9 Td's.
I will still be coming to this room for the expertise and knowledge of it's members, now friends, so not a goodbye at all.
I will advertise the Xant here first.
TTFN,

Greg

Happy retirement Greg :D :D I envy you and can't wait for my retirement although that's a long way off sadly...

It'll be lovely to have time to attend to the bikes with no worries about keeping the cars running...

Pop back in and see us often and let us know when the Citroen bug strikes again and you get another

Well done Greg. That many years spotting and avoiding people who don't use their eyes or brains, without serious injury to yourself, is good indeed.
