Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Hi there not sure if anyone can help. My wives ds3s engine management light cam on about a month ago took it to two different garages to look at it. Both have stated that it showed a low air intake fault( can't remeber the code off the top off my head) both garages looked into the problem neither could find any issues. Hi all,
My DS5 Sports alarm has suddenly started triggering by itself after I lock it.

It's been fine and no issues and today I opened the boot using the button in the bumper with the key in pocket then shut it all again as normal and within a short time the alarm is going off

I've cancelled it then locked it using the lock button on the key and...

Well you'll need to remove the wheel and arch lining to gain access, but should be pretty simple to do.

Some further info:
The siren diagnoses its connection with the alarm box as well as its permanent power supply.
If the siren detects a malfunction, the siren is triggered.

The siren has its own energy source consisting of accumulators....

Well the vehicle has a hill start assist system that maintains pressure on the wheels via the ESP system for a few seconds, but it may be the brakes sticking on. This may be a caliper related issue. When was the brake fluid last changed? It's supposed to be replaced every 2 years.

I just checked - I missed the separate 3 Amp Fuse F38. Seems there are 2 fuses - one for the foldback and one for the electrochrome and movement, which also supplies the headlamp beam correction.

Is is from 2015 and have around 133 000km on the clock (82 642 miles i think) I asked my usual citroen shop and got an offer for around EUR 790, but a general shop (well known) offered me service for half that amount. Good afternoon, the fuse for the front 12v plug blew so I went to change it and I found the wiring like this infront of the fuse box. Is this normal or has someone had the dash off before I bought the car?

Well that's a relief, I thought its been in an accident and someone has bodged it back together😂.
I tried reaching the fuse but didn't want to disturb it too much so just left it and will use the 12v socket in the back.

I got a message last night telling me to check the Dipped Beam lights, the sat nav is directing me to the nearest dealer. If I restart it comes on a dull weird orange for a few seconds, then goes off when the message appears.

The manual says it's a dealer-only job due to high voltages. I promise to be careful, obviously the ignition will be off...

has anybody used aftermarket TPS sensors would the ECU automatically pick them up or would they have to be added to the ECU have seen some on e-bay for a 1/4 of the price of a citroen one

There are aftermarket sensors where the sensor itself is programmable and is a clone of the original one. The new valve is programmed to have the same ID number as the old one, so the ECU doesn't see any difference.

You need to program either the ECU or the valves. Either way, you or the garage need whatever equipment is needed to do this.

Hi,

I am in the process of trying to repair a rear passenger window regulator.
Have removed the relevant bolts /screws (around the door handle and the one on side of door).
Have come to a halt trying to remove the door card.
Is it just a matter of pulling the door card off now - pull out from bottom and then lift upwards?

then the door pad studs are unclipped, the pad gently pulled out then vertically upwards shown by the black arrow on the right.

Hi,

Trying to work out how to reset after Eolys tank has been filled (Citroen DS5 1.6HDi 2014).
I think the mechanic who did this last year did not reset. Now getting a 'Service' warning light.
Diesel Fuel additive pump info on Autel MK808 scanner reports current quantity in additive tank as 3%, yet Engine ECU Exhaust Line 1 reports additive...

That's correct - whoever did the 'reset' last time made a right pig's ear out of it and it evidently was not done. There's a lesson about going to places that don't have the proper equipment to do the job.

The additive level is only estimated, it is not physically measured, so the only way to know how much fluid is in the tank is to empty it and...

Ok, so most of the faults relating to the gearbox issues have fault codes associated with them, but also 'Loss of traction - failure of the programming of the clutch biting point' may be an issue. I'm assuming you have a full CAN VCI and have communication with all ECUs?

If you are certain there are no faults then you may have to let any issue...

My car failed its mot as the handbrake wasn't up to a satisfactory standard but when doing a little investigation its quite hard to find any information on how to adjust the electric handbrake, ive even purchased a workshop manual and it has no information of how to adjust. Does anyone have any idea?

It depends on exactly why they failed it. Sometimes they can tell you which side is weaker than the other - or they may just say that the handbrake is not effective.

Of course it's important that they know how to test it properly but they should be aware that the EPB switch has to be held on by hand to apply maximum stopping force. If it's more...

Electrical issues more often than not are due to a broken winding or in the case of a motor bad brushes unless it's a brushless of course a bump can knock a connector loose though, I am having a problem with an airbag connection coming loose when I hit a bump in one of my other cars.

I have purchased a used 2016 DS5. My iphone 13 will easily connect to the Bluetooth, but then disconnects and re-connects every 20 seconds (say). Earlier phones don't have this issue, so it appears to be specific to the device.
Local DS Dealer have told me my phone is incompatible with the car.
Is there a patch or a fix out there?

Hi,

I have an issue where (as you can see in the image), the silver chrome/wrap trim has wrinkled up due to heat.

Is there any way to repair this without completely replacing the center console?

It's possibly a sunlight/age thing, as it's the surfaces that are facing upwards, where the coatings are expanding or shrinking and/or losing their stickiness. It looks like it's a plastic coating, presumably to prevent tarnishing, over chrome plating.

The black panel around the gear shifter on mine has done similar. This is a rubbery coating...

My ds5 cooling fan stays on when i shutdown the car. I taked it to dealer and they changed cooling fan reostat/rely witch is in the fan housing. I contact DS to have car maintenance plan to see what I need to change and saw that the recommended oil for this motor is 0W20 with b71 2010 specification.
