Fuel gauge always showing full - Help!

Unread post by DanTrinder »

Afternoon all,

I have brought a 2012 Citroen DS3 with a weird problem, the fuel gauge is always showing full on the instrument panel.

I have changed the fuel sender in the tank with no luck.

Please can I have some advice on what this might be?

Does anyone have a wiring diagram of this system?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dan

Has it always been like this? Have you just recently bought the car?

Does your display have have the facility for average fuel and instantaneous fuel consumption? On my cars the instantaneous readout also gives a best guess of how far you can get on the amount of fuel remaining. What does yours say?

You could try plugging in the old sensor to the electrical connector and move the float up and down to see if it changes the gauge reading. If not then the wiring will need to be checked.
