Given the number of 'After-sales campaign' notices concerning Takarta Airbags I have been made aware of when looking up parts from PSA for members, I thought I would post a link to the following documentary that may be informative concerning the issue with these igniters.

According to Takata, the chemicals in the airbags’ explosive charge can...

Disruption to Parts Service

As you may be aware, the consolidation of the old PSA to the Stellantis Group systems has resulted in both a merge of data tools and a requirement to migrate PSA accounts to Stellantis Systems.

This has caused some problems for organisations like ours and the Team are currently looking at the best way forward. This...

Infra-red is like a TV remote, they only work when there is a line of sight to the receiver. The receiver in Infra-red equipped cars is usually in the roof, just above the rear view mirror.
Radio remotes work from a much greater distance and don't require a line of sight.

The small pipe from behind the fuel filter is the degassing pipe and its flow runs towards the radiator, even though it connects to the bottom of the rad, there is a tube inside the expansion tank that travels to the top, the water exits above the water level in the tank and any air is expelled, degassed.

Remove (not just slacken) the appropriate pinch bolt on the bottom U/J, if you want to leave the joint on the rack and remove just the upper shaft, then remove the upper pinch bolt on the U/J.

I need to replace my N/S outter cv joint. Does anyone know how the joint is helt to the shaft. I have only replaced a vauxhall and that was held by a spring clip.
Many thanks.

Programming ignition keys... Expert Van

by wheeler » 05 Apr 2004, 23:52

First post

you have 2 options, take the van to a peugeot dealer to have the keys programed as you need the diagnostic computer to do this, you will also need the 4 digit transponder code.
option 2- tape one of the old keys to the recever round the ignition barrel under the steering column covers which means the imobiliser will unlock as soon as the ignition is...

Last post

Anyone know how to programme a new key into the electronics of an Expert van? It can't be that difficult surely.
Ive replaced the ignition barrel and everything is OK except that the key recognition sensor ( coil ) wont recognise the new keys. It recognises the old ones fine.
Please help

306 Brake Failure

by bad driver » 05 Apr 2004, 19:49

sounds like the servo has failed. Best get it sorted asap. tend to find brakes are quite useful!!

Last post

Hello All,
The brakes on my 94' 306 TD have suddenly failed, fortunately I was only doing roughly 15mph at the time.
The brakes were working fine until after I turned a corner into a residential street, then when I tried to stop they no longer worked!
The brake pedal is almost rock solid now and has very limited movement, if you press very hard...

406 2.1 tdi

2.1 engines are pretty scarce - but what, exactly is wrong with yours?

Last post

Hi newbie here,
I have a big problem, just bought a 1998 406 2.1td and had it in to peugeot to change the cam belt. When they started it, the bottom end is all knackered. So the question is does anybody know where I can get an engine from?
Seems like it may be the cheapest way around the problem.
Thanks In Advance,
Barno.

rad fan for dturbo 306

by batwad » 04 Apr 2004, 17:59

First post

There is some variation, depending on whether you have single or twin fans and the size of the rad.

Last post

on the 306 dturbos are the rad fans the same throughout the range as peugeot have quoted over £100 but i have seen a second hand on on ebay.

Hi i recentl had my cambelt changed at Peugeot, and a few days afterwards i could hear a whirring noise coming from the belt area in the engine bay.
arry_b said, they may have tightened the cambelt too much...Thankyou arry_b.
I took it back to peugeot (after 3 weeks) and they said probably the cambelt had been over tightened. Would this have...

Gurgal on acceleration

Air lock in heater matrix? can sometimes make this sound.

Last post

I have a 405 1.8 GL petrol and when accelerating on the motorway there is the sound of a gurgal . A bit like when you suck through a straw whne there's not much coke in the glass! It seems to me it could be fuel starvation or something but the engine isn't hesitant or anything. Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers.

306 twin fans

by P 2501 » 01 Apr 2004, 14:19

First post

The twin fans are designed to come on at different temps. But i think the passenger side is the first one to come on (at about 97 c) and the second kicks in at around 105. you are only seeing one fan on because the temp is only hot enough to start the former.

Last post

hi all
i have a 306 dturbo, and was wondering if anyone knows, are both fans meant to go at the same time as the one on the passa. side of the car doesn.t seem to be going. And if they do how can i track down where the fault lies......

Hi everyone, I am currently changing my n/a diesel 306 to be a Turbo diesel. I was on the understanding that the wiring looms are the same for both cars so the engine conversion would be a straight swap with radiator and downpipe. However I have come a bit unstuck and really need some advice. The loom on the new engine has 2 plugs on it that I...

I own a peugeot 306 1.4 lx which registers a high temperature on the gauge very quickly. After changing the cylinder head gasked, thermostat, temperature sensor, it appears to be an electrical fault. This is because when the heater fan is operated, the gauge shots into the red. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what was the...

poor idle on initial startup

by JohnD » 30 Mar 2004, 00:33

Chances are that it's sucking in air to the fuel lines. Check every union that you undid to replace the filter. You could also put in some new copper washers on the banjo unions.
