306 overheading

I own a peugeot 306 1.4 lx which registers a high temperature on the gauge very quickly. After changing the cylinder head gasked, thermostat, temperature sensor, it appears to be an electrical fault. This is because when the heater fan is operated, the gauge shots into the red. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what was the cause??? Cheers.

Probably a poor earth connection somewhere.
