Gurgal on acceleration

Post by maddave »

I have a 405 1.8 GL petrol and when accelerating on the motorway there is the sound of a "gurgal". A bit like when you suck through a straw whne there's not much coke in the glass! It seems to me it could be fuel starvation or something but the engine isn't hesitant or anything. Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers.

Concerned why it has suddenly started Is you cooling system OK this could be a leaking head gasket thus the air in the system and mostly only during acceleration. It the the header tank is not overpressurising then hopefully it is just an air lock not a problem. Regards Peter

It happened since I bought the car, 30,000 miles ago. Dont think its a collant thing as I have changed that and no leaks or changes in level of coolant. Happens more under load with acceleration. Not sure if its a problem but it is a bit annoying.

Well the good news is that it is not a head off job.
