Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Some of you may remember me droning on about the fuel consumption of my recently acquired 406 Hdi estate some years ago, it would always give me 60 + mpg on a long run but the two I have had since that one got written of by water in the electronics have only ever returned about 55 mpg. I put it down to defective calibration.

Got a chap in the village who wants to French his car. Done the headlights. It then failed the CT on:

Hello

I got a 2007 307 1600cc petrol that won't go up hills,no engine management light on -but I got an Autel printout that says

1. P1645 Accelerator Pedal point of resistance informationcoherance Permanent fault

2.P0130 Upstream oxygen sensor signalcoherence intermittent fault

Hello all . I’m new to the forum and hope you can help. My wife 307 2.0hdi has a small misfire / hiccup when it’s cold. It ticks over lovely a smooth and revs ok. It’s fine when it’s warm. I have a code p1352 glow plug. I’ve changed the relay but haven’t had it code read since. Wouldn’t have thought glow plugs would cause a misfire as it starts...

Does anyone know how/where I can get a schematic diagram of how the HP fuel system works from the start in the LP fuel tank to return to the said tank. I have a problem where the engine hesitates at about 1300 rpm and again at 2500. if I press the accelerator quickly the engine stalls there is also a knocking just before it stalls. Next one. On the way to the ferry and I hit the Cruise Control. Then slowed down behind a lorry. Once the lorry was out of the way I reengaged CC. I had slowed to about 30mph and the car's CC was set to 60. It accelerated like I'd used the kickdown. Then it started surging and slowing +/- 5mph either side of 60. Luckily I hadn't travelled far so...

My daughter's 2003 Peugeot 206 1.4 8 valve petrol has the engine warning light on. Car starts and runs fine, no symptoms to go on apart from the light.

Plugged my bluetooth OBDII reader in and it doesn't seem to get any power.

Didn't have much time to mess around with it but swapped fuse 5 which I think is the right one for the diagnostic port...

Turned out to be O2 sensor bank 1.

That has been replaced and after running fine for a few days it suddenly won't tick over when cold.

Nipped out of work to take a look. Revved it for a minute or two until it settled down, symptoms were pretty much how a cold engine would have been with no choke back in the carburettor days. Drove it round the...

Ok, so you have the 206 5 DOOR ESTATE 1.4 i 16v 90 Manual gearbox 5 with the ET3J4 Engine.

Unfortunately it doesn't state the architecture - only that is is multiplexed - so I suspect VAN bus. If you don't have access to another VCI (PP2000 interface) to try, then your best bet is to get it properly diagnosed - and I think you said you already...

Hi, I have a problem with an intermittent power loss, it is when put under load, and it seems to miss a heart beat, then back to normal, I have been told it could be Mass airflow meter which i tested and thats not it, next is the EGR, Can i just unplug it to see if that is the issue?

Charliedog. There are vast numbers of earthing points over the whole vehicle servicing different harnesses. if you have a specific system in place you want to know where the earth is, then let us know, I.e. door locking, electric windows, mirrors etc.

I recently replaced the engine on a 2005 1.1 206.

It was from a citroen but i removed all of the sensors and electronic components from the original engine which had snapped its timing belt.

The car starts now but it idles at between 2500,3000 rpm. Occasionally then idling oddly. This is a video of the issue:

Hi guys.
My RCZ recently started making a new noise. It sounds a bit like it's coming from the aux belt area. It isn't the timing chain, unless Peugeot fit substandard parts as it's only just had the chain, guides, tensioners, vvt sprockets and an oil change done. I'd say max 3k ago.

Apologies if not correct place for this post. My 20 year old Pug 306 1.9D failed its MOT today on emissions.
Suspected it was going to when I heard the 4th, then 5th then 6th test! Anyway didn't look at the figures until I got home.

Goes like a train over 2000 rpm but below 1000 I sometimes have to turn the aircon off to pull away on a hill. I changed the cam belt last year and couldn't get the adjustment on the cam shaft hub where the book says it should be, although the peg goes in OK. Other than that I'm stumped.

I don't think the aircon is the problem its lack of output from the engine at low revs. When tested against the other almost identical car - even the same colour! the other car Pulls away better, this one sometimes stalls when pulling away on a gradient if cold, putting on the aircon just makes it worse.

So I took the caliper off, and got the old slider boots off. The slider is very rusty at the ends so obviously needs replacing. The boots have become disconnected from the metal mount so also clearly need replacing.

However, the bushes are trickier.

How do you get them out? With a press? Can they be driven all the way through?

When I put a TD engine in my 1997 NA expert I used a 1994 Xantia engine. That had a place for an EGR valve, but I had no holes in my exhaust system to connect it to (I used the exhaust from an 806 which I guess didn't have oneeither), so was advised by you lot to just remove the valve and seal off the mount hole. Got a BOLs coming over for the 407, tried to combine shipping and get one for my C4 2.0i 16v petrol, doesn't exist. I was advised to buy two. One for the car and a C5 one for the engine. That will be the Revue Technique route. Obviously not a common model in the UK.

I've read all the posts relating to the oil, JW3309, just wondered if anyone has heard of this brand. The previous owner followed Monsieur Pug's advice and did diddly, so at 165K miles I think it's a bit overdue!

I thought 10 litres, 2 changes straight away and then another in a month?
The price seems really cheap, possibly too cheap?

The late 1.9TDs with Bosch mechanical pumps had an ECU to control the timing, so a Lexia can give useful diagnostics, especially with a fault that appears to be related to timing.

The timing belt jumping a tooth (or perhaps more now) is a good suggestion.

Hello,
I have a 306 1994 and I stopped for 1-2 minutes. Suddenly the couldn't start. I hear the click click when I turn the key at ignition position, I hear the fuel pump but nothing else... Only the battery light and the clock turn off at ignition position as always but the ignition motor can't move... Also I can't find the relay for starter...

Have you tested to see if the starter solenoid is getting power when the key is turned to 'start' position? Use a 12v test light and a friend if possible. If it is it should also click, like a relay. Just in the process of changing my headlights. Removing the front bumper had gone swimmingly until......trying to release the sides where they clip in. Checked on several other forums and youtube videos and they say 'unclip or unlatch' or 'it's a swine'. The only advice I can find is to stuff a screwdriver in there to release the clips then pull....

Thanks for the reply Marc, just about to open a celebratory beer. Really didn't want to prise the bumper off so I stuck a 10mm long reach socket on a 3/8 extension up inside the wing and unscrewed the bumper retaining bracket sufficiently to be able to ease it away from the wing, thus releasing the bumper. New lights are now in. CT next week....
