Hi
Is it possible (or at least probable) to have any timing issues without any trouble code popping up?

It is possible to have valve timing issues due to a stretched chain we no related fault codes.
Knock codes for transient conditions are often masked, until it gets bad enough for a super-knock code.

Thx
If stretched shouldn't it "jump" a tooth or present other symptoms of synchronization issues which sensors are meant to read?
