207 1.6hdi, About to replace Eolys Pouch, and DPF filter, advice please.

Post by avamotor »

Hello French Car Forum,

Follow a recent journey The message "risk of filter blockage" appeared on the multifunction display screen. I nursed the car (Peugeot 207 1.6 hdi 90 9HP) home and read the error codes these being:-

BSI fault reading
F5FF Unexpected re-initialsation fault coming from the BSI
From: local
Characterisation of the fault: Not characterised

EDC17C10

Principle relay control

P0215
From: local
Status: temporary fault
Characterisation of the fault: poor operation of the relay A

And

P1490
From: local
Status: temporary fault
Characterisation of the fault: detected overloaded

Whilst looking through various menus including "Exhaust line information" I also have notrd the odd temperature of 149 degrees particle emission filter upstream temperature, when a few posts have made reference too so I will check the resistance and see if there is any change with a heat gun.

I last cleaned the DPF in March 2019 and refilled the fap at the same time and I inherited the car later that year and it has been fairly reliable.

To save any messing around with dpf cleaner etc this time, I have purchased a new BSM, dpf, sealing ring/clamp and a brand new pouch of Eolys powerflex (9678033680).

This may sound like a silly question but in the "throat" of the connector from the bag of Eolys, there looks to be a bung/stopper that stops any fluid leaking out during transit. Does this remain in the connector and I just fit the bag in or am I supposed to retrieve it?

Still trying to find the procedure from my notes in getting to pack repair, replacements parts etc but will track them down.

BSM fitted today to try and remove some electrical gremlins, checked and cleaned cables and fuses and all apears well regarding that.

Any advice would be appreciated to save me damaging anything I shouldnt!

It should just fit into the 'click-fit' connector when you fit it back into the additive support unit.

Did you do an additive level reset and counter reset when you added Eolys? What is the Differential pressure in driving and idling?

Hi Alexvalcic,

Yes changed the info where required, it knows its been refilled and dpf replaced.

Before change DPF, Difference in pressure between particulate emission filter input/output 014 mbars at 854 rpm.

After changing dpf,
Difference in pressure between particulate emission input/output rpm after swap now at 001 mbars at 875 rpm.

Weather been too poor to test it on the open road.

Has anyone ever had the lower dpf pressure pipe bolt seize up inside the fitting and did anyone managed to remove it without damage to the dpf? Please could I ask how you managed it.

I have so far tried butane gas torch, followed by wd 40, the 19mm spanner i thought was turning it only to find its rounding it. Mole grip not doing anything and I really dont want to damage the old dpf.

**Solved and sorted** car running okay, no errors any longer, managed to weld metal to nut of dpf pipe and remove successfully from the car.

Hi Mike

You need a Powerflex additive pouch for your vehicle. You should be able to find plenty of online suppliers, but make sure it is only the 1.1 litre size, not the 3 litre.

If you require official part numbers, please see below:

If you can't already find the info you need on the Forum, we do ask for a membership upgrade for official parts data as we are in turn charged for this. It will cover you for future parts requests for up to 2 years, so excellent value.

If interested, links are below, then pop your VIN up.
A response to your question by a Forum Admin requiring parts or additional information requires you to have made a current contribution (£10 min.) to the Forum.

hi Marc,
many thanks for the quick response.

I've updated my membership.

I've found lots of different sizes all listed as compatible on various suppliers.

do you have a definitive compatible part number list?

cheers,
mike

Hi Mike

Thanks for your Forum Donation.
shizle Poweflex.PNG
Item (15) Flexible Additive Pouch, (Powerflex), part: 9678033680, £175.06 inc. VAT direct from Peugeot, or you can search on this part number on the web for possible cheaper sources, but be aware you will also need to reset the additive counter with a professional level diagnostic tool like Diagbox.

sorry to be a pain;

have replaced the physical pouch but I'm getting the following errors in diagbox:

P1445 - The quantity of additive injected into Particle Emission filter has exceeded the maximum threshold. PEF must be changed.

P15B3 - calculated additive level below the critical threshold.

my diagbox (9.91) isn't allowing me to reset those faults.

any suggestions?

cheers,
mike
