Peugeot 207 cc 1.6 2007 exhaust replacement
Anyone on the forum ever replaced the centre exhaust section section on one of these models. If so, do you know if the brace bars have to be removed to remove the centre section. There seems to be 3 X braces screwed to the under frame of the body. I can only presume that these are rigitiy braces as it's a convertible?

The answer to my question is yes. There is no way of getting the middle exhaust section out without removing these chassis rigidity bars. They are held up by torx headed screws and most of them where seized with rust.

Did they all free off without any of them shearing off?bnd wrote: 31 Oct 2022, 16:37They are held up by torx headed screws and most of them where seized with rust.

Indeed they did lucky enough. It took heat via a small blow torch and very gentle coaxing. Took me 5 hours to get all 9 torx screws out. All because in the production factories won't put a little copper grease on the threads during the build. Typical.

That's good news
A sheared one would have been a right 'mare... Time well spent to avoid that...
Thing is, a dab of copper grease would cost 0.00001p extra per car and no way can they afford that

Lol, absolutely correct. They build cars these days to suit the factory and have no thought what's so ever about a maintenance mechanic or auto electrician coming behind them to try and repair the vehicle.

Thanks for this info.
I'm doing my wife'e exhaust to save a few pennies and struggled for an half the afternoon trying to get this out. Easily enough to cut but I was wanting to see how it would go back in.
Fortunately I got an electric impact driver for Christmas, otherwise I would be doing it the old manual driver way.
