This is where the trouble will start, auto's have a specific map and so do manuals, i also know there were several ecu types for the TCT, the main ones were adapted for odb then odb1 and i think 2 aswell and in between there were some changes. care must be taken.

the usual problem with the motors is where the offset cog is held in place by a small pin which is part of the casing, the pin snaps off leaving the cog lose. yours may be on the verge of it. the repair if it does happen is to drill the casing and put a piece of a 1.5 mm drill bit in it's place. it's a fiddly job as it has to be exactly in the...

I cant imagine your going to get an excellent C5 for £900 to be honest, that ebay one has sold for almost £1500, £1000 more than mark21td has been offered one for.

Plus thats a 2.2 and if your after cheap running id avoid those, go for the 2.0, more economical and no FAP, which you will probably need to do something with at some point.

It is. But the later models (transponder) have this as a sort of coin tray thing anyway. Just above the fusebox on the right hand side of the steering wheel on a RHD car. ( as posted above ;) )

If I recall, your car was showing a slow tick in hard mode and a fast one in soft, signifying a leaky electrovalve.

Ignition off, pull out F8 (the Hydractive fuse in engine bay) start up, let pressure come up and then switch off and try the sit in the boot test.

Closer to the DS in structure and mechanicals - CX aapted the excellent steering system but lost the excellent steering headlights.

Im sure that the engine speed is 3000rpm not 4000, at 3000rpm my C5 auto is doing well over 90, 4000rpm for 20 mins would result in a clean filter but a DIRTY licence :lol:
Looking in the LEXIA it says when the FAP was last regenerated (was 600 odd km) and a average distance between regeneratons (886km for my car) I do nothing but drive the car...

You could always slacken it a bit, I would assume when its stone cold (and cold outside ideally) the cable is fully taught.

Where the fast idle sits between the stops, adjust the cable end fitting so its nearer the 'released' side.

one injectors was new and re coded in, his dianostic pc pointed to no1 injector water pump side fitted all injectors had them recoded in still same,
Number 1 is the gearbox end on this engine so the ijectors could be coded wrong.

I use it here (where it does get slightly warm at times :lol: ). Gets in far deeper than things like WaxOyl.

Depends on the ECU fitted to the car, On some there is the option to 'initialise auto adaptives' . On some ECU's its just a case of pressing the button & on others lexia will guide you through the rest of the procedure like driving in x gear at xx RPM etc. It should be done every time something like oxygen sensors, throttle position sensors,...

Now I have 205 55 R16 Dunlop SP 01 91W with rim protection, very cheap and very good tyres. those tyres are soft and silent, very predictible and stable too.

MPG is less to by 1-2% :)

This tyresize seems to be ok, i`ve seen it on many large cars like VW Passat which are heavier than mine.

just cut off the electronics box and find the live wire that energizes the solenoid.

the electricary will be in the solenoid head, inside that metal dome, it might be possible to cut the dome off and bypass, dont know if anyone...

Looking at a C5 here that has an issue and was hoping someone migh shed some light on it? Heres the quote from his add

Rounding off this thread with the final fault found case it helps someone down the line - lower radiator hose was slitted in several places by the rubbing action of the plastic wheelarch grille.

The slits were opening up only on harsh acceleration or deceleration hence, little water loss on long motorway journeys, but lots on short runs in stop...

thanks for the advice, the reversing sensors still continued to operate as did the climate control. At the moment the sat nav is working again !! but can then suddenly cease to work !! I'm thinking the cheapest option is to purchase a Tom Tom or similar and if it packs up use that. No-one seems to have a positive solution and am not prepared to go...

Mr Sheen seems to have done the trick - the seatbelt now seems to retract all the way back in (slowly).

i had a look at your pics of the bike, looks like a nice restoration, ihad plan to to do that on the cx500 but after spending a fortune on bits i still had a bike with problems it had been totally abused , the VFR**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff], i have had for years it needs work but when honda made these they really built them well , this one i will leave in france...

Take the glove box out (its easier with it out) only a few screws. Youl see a fuse box top row right hand side(think its blue 15amp). Its the power supply for the obd port

Have just tried a CD cleaner, which has made no difference, so it's not a simple £1.00 fix.....

Wondering if disconnecting the battery again, leaving it for a while, and then reconnecting may do a 'reset' - or would that risk further problems?

Is your dadas C5 a S1 facelifted C5 or the newer 'germanic' C5? 2008 is in the middle of the old one ending and new new one being launched.

Citroen boot trays seems very expensive, have you looked on the citroen website under accessories? I cant remember how much now but its near £100...

Indeed it was the underseat connector. There's a green one to the left,white to the right, and a brown one in the middle. I only tried the brown one,quick wiggle and it's sorted.
