I would think so, 110 HDi. Shares it's braking gear with the late Activa and V6...wotwot wrote:X2 110 sorry which one is that the HDI

Re: front discs and pads time !! ??
They're not cheap... carparts4less have Pagid discs at £25 each and pads at £34 - doubt you'll do much better than that. If they've not been done in while, then bank on handbrake cables too - at another £30 the pair.... I've just ordered some of the those pads - done 40k since the last change, so not too bad even if they are dear! Bought cheap discs last time, and they rust at the drop of a hat, not going to change them this time though.

Re: front discs and pads time !! ??
Much obliged for that Richard. Just did a price comparison with GSF and they are £16 pair more expensive on the discs and £1.20 cheaper on pads ! Quick browse around ebay didn't come with anything cheaper for the same quality so carparts4less it is !!
I know Pagid are good so more than happy with this !
PS, I go through pads in about 6-8000 miles so I'm on 1st name terms with the handbrake cables !! They are fine for now. Don't even bother fitting the pad wear sensors anymore, I know from the sound of the brakes when they need replacement !

It may be worth investing some money in doing that. You'll save loads on pads and discs if you go through them at that rate!
Re: front discs and pads time !! ??
No, wouldn't help, I just like to press on !! I CAN, if I'm in the mood, use the advanced driving techniques to minimise unecessary braking but I'm inclined to be impatient so am always on it !!
Does keep the brakes nice and free though, never had a rear caliper seize up and the pads just drop out of the fronts when I change them

Re: front discs and pads time !! ??
JESUS, front pads every 6-8k miles! You need to take the lead out of your shoe or put better brakes on the car. My friend has a highly modified 370bhp 9-5 with a 360mm Brembo conversion, he only goes through pads every 15-16k. You must stand the car on its nose at every junction!

Re: front discs and pads time !! ??
Funny you should mention that, I have a modified Evo 6 and I get more miles out of the brakes on that too !! About 12 K miles per set of front pads. Good job too at the price they are, about £150 for just a front pad set !!
Obviously though, being much larger capacity brakes they aren't pushed anywhere near their limits even with quite hard road driving.

I have a friend who can extract that sort of mileage from brake pads, we call him Miss Daisy

Re: front discs and pads time !! ??
you might want to give Europarts alook they are very keen on price,I am not Miss Daisy but I would look at what I was doing if pads are only lasting that long, cannot remember the last time I had pads you get used to the metalic grinding and allow more room to stop like 200yards
