Xantia MOT failure

Unread post by isisalar »

Interesting MOT, Failed on front No. plate(passed last year), blocked washer jet(passed last year, and have been asking them to blow it out for the last 4 years), and drop link ball joint dust cover deteriorated.
For the drop link they want to charge £10 ish parts and £70 labour. My local Citroen indy wants £30 parts(OE), and £20 labour.
The chunks out of the nsr tyrewall, and perishing to such an extent that no writing remains on the osr, were advisories!
Cheers
Paul

MOT's have just got a whole lot strickter.. and NOW air bag lights ARE part of the MOT an if showing will fail.

No doubt some garages will take advantage of the strickter Test.. but in reality theres a "window" in that untill april this year Orange warning lights will be advisory so the owner has chance to repair the fault ready for next years MOT.

Just back from the Citroen indy £50 all in with the proper parts fitted, and the washer jets blown out.Back to the MOT place soon for the re test and have the new plate fitted.£12+vat quoted, the local factor was £15+ vat.
Be interesting to see if they want to charge extra for fitting.

Shouldn't do as they don't have any direct link to the steering.
