Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

Hi all,

I have Citroen Evasion -99 2,0 turbo (xu10j2te) and I’m going to change the oxygen sensor. When I lie under the car, I can see that the oxygen sensor wire goes ”somewhere up”. Under the bonnet, I don’t find the wire or its connector. Does anyone know where the connector is?

So my mirrors stopped opening and closing and my heated rear window is also not turning on suggesting my fuse needs replacing. Apparently this is Fusebox c, F17 but the manual diagrams do not match my car at all (maybe because C5 exclusive rather than base model?) Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

There should be an additional hand book (Citroen Navi Drive or similar) for the screen and associated menus which is very descriptive. Definitely not in Haynes. Haynes is usefull for locating items and torque loadings.

You could try obtaining a Navi Drive? book from Ebay or your local freindly scrap yard, it will need to be the one for the year...

I may be selling my Xantia (2001 model) to a neighbour who is only here on holiday a few times a year. Typically the car could be in the garage for 3-6 months at any one time.
I know it sinks about 5cm if left for a few days then stops at that level. All sound underneath as no rust at all so height correctors have been no trouble.

After fitting the turbo vac solenoid and finally having some power at low revs I am working on the other probs the garage found when they hooked up the car for me. Fitting the vac solenoid has bought down the excessive fuel use down a little but not as much as I expect a 1.6hdi to be using.

Be wary of cheap ones. Check yours to see who made it. Seimens/VDO are the usual ones (VDO is a spinoff of Siemens) but some have Bosch systems that are not compatible.
I got mine from the dealer but they can be had from eBay for much less.

Totally agree....if you have space these days a spares car is worth a lot, not only as you see above as in saving loads but you also save a load of time and gas going to get parts. I would think it is even worth renting a really cheap lock-up near by....no one will break in and steal it after all :)

I have been told and heard on here that using a lexia, a remote fob can be re programmed to another car?? I only got a hard key with mine and need a remote fob cos the last few days,with the cold,I have had to leave my car unlocled cos the key won't unlock it, so I would like to buy a fob off e bay and get it programmed to my car...I just want to...

I've spent some time on this and got stuck too. Have tried both new reproduction and genuine used fobs with same result. Can program the transponder to the car with lexia and then start the car,

But cannot get the HF button sync step to work... Tried lots.

And I don't really see how the bsi could differentiate between a virgin FOB's rf signal...

Hi all,

It was so sudden. While on the way home just now, the car (Citroen C5 2007 2.0L Petrol) suddenly started to shake and next came the Depollution System Faulty .
The car started to loose power along the way. The car struggled and managed to bring me home safely.

Now what should I do? I do not have access to Lexia (Should have bought one...

Hi

I hope someone can help me with wiring problem. I was cruising around when suddenly some smoke came from the dash area. I stopped the car and turned off the ignition. I removed one cover that is on the top of the pedals and found out that one wire that has a small fusebox with fuse has melted( the fuse was melted with the fusebox, the wire...

I believe that there is a headlight mod, that uses a relay, to stop contacts in the ignition switch from getting burnt out. IIRC this was on S1 Xantia, but was not required on S2 models, as Citroen implemented it themselves. Other than that I cannot say, as I have no personal experience of this issue.

I have a Xsara Picasso 07 Reg 1.6 petrol with about 66k. The garage have said the fluid used for the power steering is not correct. ie not the one recommended for my car as it is not red and is too thin. Mine is runnier and an amber colour with a tinge of red! At first he said he thought it had been topped up with brake fluid which horrified me....

Just bought an 05 plate C4 coupe 1.6 petrol.
The guy I bought it from sold it because it wouldn't start.
I bought it as a project to see if I can get it going again.
Hope someone might be able to help me.
The starter turns for less than a second then stops as if the starter was faulty.
I have cleaned the body earths, replaced the battery and...

Car is all running now it was the engine ecu.
Found a company called Cartech Electronics, if you send your faulty ecu to them they transfer any programming or coding off yours so it's a plug and play play.
Sent it off Friday morning and got the replacement on Tuesday morning.
Only cost £250 so saved a fortune.
Hope this might help someone else.

2003 Xsara 1.6 auto has a strange fault . If you're braking just as you come to a stop the car will lurch forward as if you'd prodded the accelerator? Its not every time but it does do it fairly regularly? Anyone heard of this before or know what it might be?

I have encountered a very similar sounding symptom on a bus once which turned out to be a firmware fault in the gearbox controller (it was basically waiting until you were virtually stopped then slamming it into 1st gear from freewheeling). My 2008 Citroen C3 has a built in immobiliser but no alarm as it's not a top spec model.

I wanted to get a TOAD alarm which comes with 2 fobs and can also include front window closure modules. Price around £250 fitted.

However, I have spoken to 2 reputable alarm fitters and both have said that it is not possible to fit an aftermarket system on...

It only checks the oil level at start up, so if it comes on when driving, then it's an oil pressure problem. The fact it comes on when the oil is being sloshed about suggests it might be genuine. Hi everyone and now for a insane story!!...

I have the most annoying and so far untraceable ‘noise’ in my 2007 (face lift model) Citroen C5 2.2Lt HDi Bi-Turbo 5 door hatch, with the 6 spd sports auto transmission...

OK here we go: the noise is a ‘rubbing’ sound that emanates from the front nearside (left hand side facing forward)...it cannot be...

Had a play yesterday with Diagbox and came across the settings for adjusting ride height. Default settings 128 steps front and 120 rear (steps are approx. 1mm each). Found also the following in one of the service manuals.

If you enter a value outside the allowed range it revert to the default 128 front and 120 rear steps.

This is where it gets...

Is there a technique on getting a new thrust bearing to seat correctly on the friction plate.
Mine has come off 3 times now even though it allows me to drive around town and do a 25 trip before suddenly popping off again.
Dual mass flywheel type new clutch fitted. PLEASE HELP

hopefully a final update, all is well thrust bearing holding in place although i do get a slight click occasionally from the pedal which makes my heart skip a beat,
I think its just the pedal linkage.
If i have to do another i may put a dab of oil on the ring clip to aid it popping into place.

In my big Activa Project garage clear up, I found a Rear Tourer Load Cover and the matching Pull-Up Load Protection Net (clips into the roof mounts) (acts as a Dog Guard as well)

Anyone elses drivers seat drop slightly when sat in? The current activa set does, as did the old SX set. The bolts holding the adjuster are tight on both (well they were when i last saw the SX seat ;) ) so am i missing something? Seems odd for both sets to do it!

If the garage are good you might let them have a go first. If you have disconnected the battery there is no problem in pulling the fuses right out ( so long as you remember where they came from! ) when I do it I would lightly rub the spades on emery cloth and spray the contacts. Definitely do the big plugs as well. Push off the roll-over clamp and...

The garage removed all my tyre pressure valves and replaced with normal ones after one snapped the night before a big journey. Now I just drive with warnings occassionally.

Has anyone used the valve repair kits from Ebay and if so what like quality are they?

Thanks folks. It was the barrel of the valve that snapped. It hapoened when I was checking the tyres the night before oir drive to South of France. Panic ensued but I phoned garage who said they would replace with normal valve if I got uo to them. I drove as the air pissed out the tyre and got there just in time. Hi
I have just bought some second hand Peugeot 206 wheels with excellent 175/65/14 tyres on for my berlingo but the back ones are rubbing when going over bumps and cornering. My previous wheels were 15 inch Peugeot wheels with 195/65/15 tyres on but they were not rubbing. Any ideas what could be the reason for the rubbing as i'm totally confused?

Probably a different offset wheel. Offset is the depth of the mounting face of the wheel to the hub. The Berlingo wheels are probably a smaller offset meaning they sit more snuggly into the wheel arch, the 206 wheels have more offset meaning they are pushed out towards the wheel arch lip and rub when moving upwards on bumps.

Hello everyone,
My 2002 C5 always had more oomph than my 2003 Pug 406 yet they both have the same DW10 engine (no particulate filter). The Pug starts and runs OK but when I put my gogo foot to the floor (especially in 3rd gear) there is no immediate response - revs stay the same as does the speed, then after maybe 10 seconds or so - whoosh, off...

Strangely today none of the windows on the Xantia work from any switches, the eleccy mirrors, roof and all lights do though, maybe a relay?

Just a guess. Broken wire where the loom goes into door from body, most likely drivers door. Try operating the windows while opening/closing the door.

I'd imagine that the TCT speedo will still work, however, if you're going to the hassle of stripping it out, I'd have a peek and see if you can match the mileages. Just transferring the fascia won't work I wouldn't imagine as the milometer will still be recording km...

i have just done a clutch on my friends C5 as in title,

he had made a proper job of it!!!!!,

the thrust bearing disintergrated till the fork was running directly onto the pressure plate fingers, which kicked the fork over at an angle this in turn allowed the slave cylinder to pop and dump its fluid,

it needed the clutch kit, diff seals, fork...

Hi, my Synergie HDI is pressurising the coolant which I believe can only mean the head gasket has a small leak. If I drive with the cap loose it runs perfectly and I only have to top up the coolant every 200 miles or so. Well just after spending £££'s on welding and a new CAT to get it through its MOT, the Xantia has decided to disgrace itself with an LHM Leak.

Its difficult to tell at the moment due to the rain, but I think its from something to do with the Power Steering. Might just be me, but seemed to trigger the light when using full lock.

Hi Guys,
Posted an early topic regarding rear axle bearings on my Xsara 1.9 D 1999. Unfortunately the o/s shot to bits so I've managed to track down a lower mileage unit.
As pointed out the fault with these lies in the lack of grease or greaseing points so I'd like to fit some grease nipples to the newer axle to try and stop the problem happening...
