Xantia 2.0hdi power steering pump
Hi all does anyone know if i can get a washer kit for my car's power steering pump I have a small leak and nothing is available from Citroen in France except a complete new pump at over 1000 euros, not even worth thinking about, or where I might get a recon one, any advice would be welcome as the car is off the road thanks to Citroen for sticking the pump above the alternator,Cheers Bill

Where is it leaking from? Some seals are available - if this does not cover your leak, try contacting Plaeides in Sawtry as they re-build the pumps.

Many thanks Richard there is a 19mm plug to the rear of the pump with a 12mm plug screwing into it and that has pipe attached to it that goes down to the front passenger side sphere, the base of the 19mm plug is where the leak is, I have found out that there is a washer similar to a tap washer on the bottom of the 19mm plug, I hope this means something to you

Thanks Marc I believe that is done with the suspension in the lowest position, please correct me if I am wrong.

Re: Xantia 2.0hdi power steering pump
That's correct Bill.
Be aware if you have Hydractive Suspension (with the additional regulator on each axle), there will be a reserve pressure - so additional steps are needed to depressurise this circuit, otherwise you should be fine.

Re: Xantia 2.0hdi power steering pump
You only need to open the bleed screw on the regulator a turn to do this job, it is not necessary to depressurise the suspension.
If you have not worked it out already =, you need 19mm o-rings with 2.4 or 2.5mm round section. I prefer to use 2.5 section Viton o-rings, purchaed on ebay, as I think the originals are a bit mean in temperature rating, and do always fail.
